Beautiful four-star hotel in the center of Granada
My sister and I found this hotel through expedia.com as it was fairly inexpensive for a hotel of its class and situation and looked nice, with lovely pictures. However, none of the pictures prepared us for the amazing interiors, helpful and friendly staff, central yet private and out-of-the-way location, and wonderfully comfortable rooms.
Though we did not have the best view from our room (we looked out over a very narrow alley across from which was a windowless building) the stay was very pleasant and the ammenities were more than we expected. Expedia describes this hotel as being a 3-star hotel, however, the hotel's website rightly claims a 4-star rating at 3-star prices.
The interiors were decorated nicely with rich dark woods, exposed beams in an inner courtyard, and clean rich rooms and baths.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this hotel and wished that we had made reservations for a longer stay. Next time we know in which hotel to stay!

Fab location, great value, highly recommended
Highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay here a lot and it's great value (don't bother with the expensive hotel breakfast, get it on Plaza Nueva instead in a cafe).
A small room but quiet and on a side street/the back side of the hotel.
Recommend taking earplugs for the noise in the corridor because other guests were busy slamming doors much of the night!
Unique Quality: Such a convenient location. Couldn't be better.

Looking for a nice/quirky/well located hotel
Hi,
I'll be in Granada for two nights in June and wonder if you can recommend any really nice, but not too expensive hotels in good locations? Thank you very much for your help.

We stayed in Granada for two nights at the beginning of a holiday in Spain back in 2005. We had two nights at the Hesperia Granada - a lovely hotel and highly recommended. It was down a side street but with its own underground car park and right in the middle of the city. A couple of the streets leading away from the hotel towards the centre had some lovely tapas bars. Hotel was very characterful inside, very clean and staff extremely helpful. Think it was/is a family run place. Enjoy your stay.

I think the upmarket La Ninfa hostal is quirky as the refurbished outside of the building is covered in decorative plates! The rooms are comfortable, ensuite and it has a small bar and serves beakfast. Another positive is that it is situated in the attractive old Jewish quarter of Realejo and I think this is a better base than something similiar in the Albaicín (which would be expensive, and more difficult to get to.) Well, we stayed in a fantastic place in the Albaicin, as recommended to us by someone on this site - really easy to get to and from, beautifully atmospheric area (UNESCO world heritage site), views of the Alhambra - and with a really interesting and definitely quirky feel to it.
