More about Hotel Best Western Dauro Ii
beware, no heat in winter
by TripAdvisor Member FQS
We went in Christmas, rooms at the Dauro II (there is another location) have air conditioning but no heat, eventhough it was advertised; a couple of extra blankets helped. Otherwise OK for the price.
Alhambra tips: Buy tickets online way ahead of time. There is a bus that takes you there for 1 euro per person (is the last stop). Entry to the Nazaries palace has a strict 30 min windowframe, and entry to Alhambra is either AM (8-1 I think) or PM (2 PM-6PM). We had PM tickets and arrived at 1PM (1 hour prior) yet the wait lines were ~ 1 and a half hours, and that is for entering the complex (there is almost no hope of getting in without reserved tickets). Once inside, there is a ~10+ min walk to the palace. The person who purchases the ticket must bring an offcial ID. Despite all this, it is all well-worth it. One of the marvels of the world!
Central location

Very central location making it an ideal location for the sites and shops. The main entrance to the hotel is on the Calle Navas - a narrow street full of tapas bars. Although we were in a room at the front it was double glazed so there was no disturbance. However, we were there during a cold spell. It may be different in the height of summer when the windows are open.
Our bedroom was clean and well equipped. The bathroom was also quite large and again was clean.
Breakfast was a typical buffet affair. One small grumble - coffee is from a machine and is ghastly.
The staff were all pleasant - helpful reception (particularly booking taxis).
A Best Western hotel - quite traditional in its decor etc.
One word of caution the owners have two hotels - if getting a taxi or asking for directions ensure you state Hotel Dauro II as it is in a different location to the Hotel Dauro.
Overall not an 'exciting' hotel but comfortable, convenient and value for money.
Perfect stay in Granada!
by TripAdvisor Member tripfalco
I stayed there for 2 nights. Just a very good stay. The Hotel is in the heart of Granada and You'll find between walking distance all needed: the Alahambra, historical sites, restaurants and shops. What better that being in the heart of such an amazing place ? In the specific I found an accurate room, clean and comfortable, helpfull staff and good service. With a good value for money I would say this was a perfect choice! For me...Just stay there!
Good location
by TripAdvisor Member O'Brigg
The hotel is located in the center of the city, ten minutes walk away form the Cathedral and twenty minutes from the Alhambra. Good location next to a very busy street with lots of restaurants and tapas bar.
The rooms are quite large but could use a refurbishment. There is no parking space in the area so one need to use the Dauro hotel parking (about 11 euros / day...). The staff was helpfull and polite but always seemed in a hurry. We had to wait for our room to be prepared (got it one hour late); same thing for our car on departure day.
A central place to visit Granada.
Exellent location
by TripAdvisor Member Derek&Bev
We booked this hotel on the strength of other reviews only to find that in fact they were rather understated! The best thing about the Dauro II is the location; you walk out from reception straight onto a liveley pedastrian street full of cafes, restaurants and bars which are bustling with life. All the local attractions, such as the Alhambra are within walking distance, the hotel itself is just a few minutes from the city centre. The bus from the airport drops you just a few minutes walk away, although the steet the hotel is on is a lttle tricky to find if you have not got your bearings.
The hotel itself was immaculate, fresh and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room we had was hidden away on the top floor and had a large roof patio where you could gaze up at the Alhambra, listen to the violins and accordians from the street below whilst enjoying a glass or two of the local wine.
Overall, a great time was had and this was mainly because of the location and standard of this hotel.
Good price and a great location

Recently completed a 2 night stay at this hotel. Booked directly with the hotels website directly and I can say that my stay in Granada was very pleasant.
The hotel is located on Calle Navas, a great central location to base yourself whilst in Granada. The street is pedestrian access only and it has numerous restrauants to pick and choose from all of which have tables spilling out onto the street.
The room that we stayed in was directly facing the street with a small balcony and yes, it was noisey when the doors were open but surprisingly quiet when the balconcy doors were shut. Hearing the people, the music and noise below, for us, added to the atmosphere of being in Granada.
The rooms were simple yet clean. Double bed, shower/bath, basic TV with a channel for most languages but we weren't in Granada to watch TV.
Bathrooms though had those awful liquid soap dispensers which always makes me question just what exactly is in them.
Breakfast in the morning was included in our room rate. What was on offer was a simple selection of cold meats, cheese, fruit, cererals and pastries, enough to get you through till lunch so don't expect a full american/english breakfast!
Staff at the hotel were always friendly and willing to assist in all requests.
Internet access is available through the 1 computer provided (charged) or through Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby (also charged).
Overall, an extremely enjoyable stay at this property. Its not 5 star luxury, nor does it make itself out to be. Its a great basic hotel in a great location.
Good Location, I Liked this Hotel
by TripAdvisor Member AlmostHome
The hotel has an excellent location - on one side it's a small street with of tapas bars and restaurants. It's also in walking distance from Alhambra (maybe 15 minutes at a fast pace) and other places. The hotel itself is very nice. The hotel provides valet parking for 10 EUR per night. The persons from the reception were very helpful.
Recommended.
What a find!

Stayed one night at his hotel, what a fantastic location! The streets outside are full of bars and restaurants and the atmosphere is fantastic! Our room backed onto the street and it was not noisy at all. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. Would highly recommend this hotel for its location and value for money. Car parking is not a problem, there is a car park very close by.
