Granada
Tuesday morning we caught the 8.20am train to Granada arriving 2.10pm. It was a great train (maybe we caught the first class train), comfy, buffet carriage, hardly anyone on board, and through diverse and beautiful countryside. Heaps of olive groves. Stayed at the Hotel Macia Gran Via on Via de Colon. Explored in afternoon, lovely city. Weds morning we walked up to the Alhambra Palace on the hill above and were amongst the first to get in at 8.30am. The Nazdirs palace is a Moorish delight and ranks high in the places we have visited. There are additional Spanish buildings from the times of Isabel and Fernando (who sent Colombus to America).
