Reserve a complete day for a leisurly trip through the Alhambra. It is best to make a reservation in advance if possible. Otherwise take your chances standing in line, but arrive early (before 7am). You will be sold a ticket with a specific time in which you can enter the palaces, but you are welcome to roam the grounds (well worth many hours of pleasure) until your scheduled time comes. The grounds are the most astonishing that I have ever seen. The Generalife (gardens) are magnificent in the spring when the roses are blooming and the orange trees have fruit. The views are breathtaking. Don't miss it.
