Against all advise, we arrived in Granada without a reservation at midnight after a very long hot drive. Also against all advise we didn't plan where we would park and drove right into the center of the city having no particular idea as to where we were and without consulting a map. After a very easy entrance to the city, we spotted an underground carpark with security and parked up in front of the security office leaving our cases locked in the boot of our car, climbed up the parthway and arrived blinking with tiredness and somewhat delierious, into the center of town. What a great feel it had. Warm, relaxed and loads of little bars and cafes brimming with life late on a Monday night. I had done a little research online before our road trip and remembered some recommended hostals we tried Hostal Azul but it was full. Then the Hotel Dauro, but at 170 euros for a few hours sleep, we thought we'd give it a miss...Then we stumbled across this little gem. We were greeted by an extremely friendly desk staff who understood our total exhaustion and recommended a carpark even nearer, giving us a map and alot of useful information on where to eat at what was now 2 o clock in the morning. There was nothing glamourous or unique about the place , but it was modern, immaculately clean room con bano, with a welcoming simple check in for a mere 68 euros for two including breakfast. We lucked out. If we had known which day we were going to arrive, we would have booked something maybe a little more traditional in decor or whatever, but if you find yourselves arriving in Granada after midnight with nothing planned, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We caught a cab up to Paza Nueva as we were so tired and hungry and found ourselves tucking into huge plates of jamon y queso in a lovely traditional tapas bar near the cathedral . Perfect.
Unfazed by our raggerdy late arrival. Very welcoming and helpful. Reasonably priced in the center of town. Leave a Comment
