HOLA! Juan y Mercedes

I have visited Doñana different ways.
As you know there is a protected park which is accessible by the Mercedes 4 wheel drive trucks taking about 20 people or there is the larger natural park surrounding the protected one.

I visited both from the Guadalquivir River side which means getting to Sanlucar de Barrameda in Cadiz Province and then using the little San Fernando tourist craft for some tour. http://www.visitasdonana.com/inicio.html By the way Sanlucar is nice especially if you like Manzanilla with some fish ! I have eat at some of the fish restaurants along the Bajo de Guia next to the river and the Real Fernando pier.

Or by driving around the western side and making for El Acebuche centre, CENTRO DE VISITANTES EL ACEBUCHE, which is a 4 kms just short of Matalascanas and from that place you can take the truck bus that goes into the park itself with organised trips. You phone them and book your seats in advance. I will look for the web site but maybe you can find it quicker !

There are some nice places to visit around and about. Of course El Rocio is a most fascinating place especially during the Romería - but you will miss all that going this month. near Rocio are places of interest. There is an old hunting lodge now part of the 'park' just outside Rocio called Palacio del Acebrón . Have you got a fast internet connection ? Then look at the picture: http://viewat.org/?i=en&id_pn=1112&sec=pn

Must have been a rich man's hunting lodge at one time. There is a short walk you can do around this lodge area. Popular with school trips.

Travel Tips for Huelva

by anilesy

We were in a tapas bar next to a bullring and several of her friends were there. We had the tapas but as I do not eat seafood and the town is famous for its fishing I was not popular and my friends were astonished that I did not eat seafood. After lots of misunderstandings we eventually went to a bar on the main street and tried to communicate. I suddenly realised I could speak perfect Spanish if I had had a few glasses of wine.... Finally breaking through the Andalucian accent to find the lively and really friendly people that live there. I was also treated to my friends dancing the sevillanas for me. An absolute must and very passionate...
