Huelva city is not a city of monuments, but it's history is closely bound to the discovery of America. Columbus started his first journey from the nearby town of Palos de la Frontera in 1492.
The province is the home of el parque national de Doñana, the most important natural reserve of Spain and Europe.
Right next to the park you find the small town of El Rocío which attracts over a million visitors during it's yearly Romería del Rocío.
The delicious jamón serrano (ham) is produced in Huelva
