Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
We have now stayed at the Tryp Jerez four times and a total of 11 nights, including once for a whole week. The hotel was modernised in 2002, and is probably best described as a business hotel. The rooms we have had have always been comfortable and spacious, with good en-suite bathrooms and plenty of storage space. I would definitely stay there again, especially as I am accumulating points on their loyalty card, and have enough for yet another free night ! The hotel does have a dining room - or rather a sectioned off area of the very large lobby where you can get dinner, but we normally prefer to eat out in the town. The food is very good though. The hotel does a very good breakfast, with hot and cold buffet including cereals, fresh fruit, meats, cheese, bread rolls and croissants, and they will cook eggs to order for you - last time we both had a mushroom omelette, and it was very good indeed. The hotel has its own underground carpark - with more spaces than there are rooms in the hotel, and charged us 11 euros per day - street parking in central Jerez is not at all easy, and you would pay a similar amount in the public underground carparks. There is internet access available from reception - 2 euros for 30 minutes. A better deal can be had just a few hundred yards round the corner in the internet cafe, one euro per hour, payable by actual time used, minimum charge 0.50 euros. Rates per room vary, and it is possible to get a double room for 56 euros per night. Check the website, and look out for any special offers. Be warned though, at certain "high-season" dates (such as during the Feria del Caballo) demand for hotels in Jerez is very high, and consequently prices can be three or four times the normal rates. | | | | AC Jerez (Avda. de Chiribitos, s/n.): Very nice hotel, but not in the center
Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I went there on my second business trip to Jerez (January 2005, this time alone). Nice hotel, but not in the city centre. It is located AT the Chapin Football Stadium (as part of the building of the staudium). My room window had a view over the sports ground.... seeing the guys training in the morning was an interesting view :-) I chose this hotel as I am keen on the AC hotels brand: new and nice hotels, modern furnishings, free mineral water and apples, as well as free coffee and appetizers at a certain times of the day, free newspapers, fitness centre (small but good to do some workout after a long business day). Excellent breakfast buffet and room service (I arrived quite late so I had dinner on my room). Highly recommendable if you travel by car (easy to park in the area), but not so convenient for visiting the city centre. Leave a Comment

First time I went to Jerez (November 2004) it was a business trip with a colleague. She insisted on to book this hotel, as she said the webapage and it seemed fabulous and with a great spa center. She was enthusiastic about the place (I've to say it was one of her first business trips), IMO it was ok for a 4-star, but nothing extraordinary. Good value for price, new hotel (from 2004) in a nice old building. However the location (close to the bullring), was not so central as we thought. The spa closes quite early (obviously the place was not oriented to business-travellers) and we could not use it, so I cannot say. The breakfast was quite disappointing for this hotel category. This is a very nice club hotel from the famous chain of RIU hotels. It is an ALL INCLUSIVE formule and the service is very good. The only (very) negative thing about the hotel were the weekends, than they arrived many Spanish tourists who just came for 1 or 2 days and it was very disturbing !
Wonderful pool, VERY good service. The food was very good (a little more variety would have been nice) Leave a Comment Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: The hotel is situated in CHICLANA.Website: www.riu.com

This is a small and familiar hotel but with all you can need for a pleasant stay: air conditioned, minibar, hairdryer, ... It is located in the centre of the city and just behind the Dona Blanca mall. Great location - about mid point between the train station and the Plaza Arenal. A couple small sherry bodegas and one major international bodega are just a few blocks away - I could walk about four blocks and be at the market where snails, asparagus, various fish and crustascens, sausages, blancoi chorizo, carne del torro, olives, fruits - a great market. The church nearby had it's paseo my first night in Jerez - late at nightIi was awoken by saetas being sung as the paseo returned to the church. Seeing the pentinents in their black robes emerging from the church, the child choir seings, thchurch bells ringsing, inscense in the air and then seeing the paso slowly emerge from the church, was fascinating to watch. Also nearby is a gypsy neighborhood. Monica made me feel very welcomed - offering me a late night Jerez brandy as we talk about the caballero feria, the bodegs, the high number of millionaires that live in Jerez.
