Fabulous pre Christmas break
by A TripAdvisor Member
My friend and I stayed at AC Malaga Palcio Hotel for three nights. The suite we had was huge with fabulous views across the harbour and the cathedral to the side. The Christmas lights in Malaga are absolutely fabulous.
The sitting room was comfortable and very welcoming after a day sightseeing. The whole place was very clean. The staff at reception were warm and friendly and the service in the bar was good even if the price of drinks a little expensive but you did get a very good measure of brandy.
I would certainly stay there again at this time of year as we got a very good deal on the room and it was certainly value for money.
Backache Stay
by TripAdvisor Member quietbreeze
We chose the hotel based on location and the reviews we had read regarding the simplicity of AC Hotels.
True to its word the location was excellent. The hotel was okay for a quick stay. We found the restaurant staff very abrupt and not friendly.
The breakfast was good value for money; however
dinner was lacking in quality for the price.
The most disappointing feature were the beds.
The mattress was so uncomfortable and hard we
had a backache each morning on our three
day stay. It was truly a disappointment and
we did not change because all the rooms were
similar. The staff were helpful but in a
Spanish way.....very curt and quick with information.
I would only recommend this hotel for a quick stay.
Great Location, just a few steps to the centre of Malaga

We stayed for three nights, Sunday to Wednesday, February 2006. They had noted our request for a twin room with a view, non-smoking. They apologised that the rooms with the best view had king-size beds. We asked to see the twin-bedded and it was no problem - 13th floor on the corner with a picture window on two sides, lovely views over the city, facing the cathedral. The room was spacious, with a balcony and marble bathroom with power shower, bidet and great fittings. Toiletries were replenished daily and extra blankets were provided when requested. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice, from cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and various pastries, choice of full cream, low fat or soya milk. We didnt eat in the restaurant as there were lots of great places nearby - would recommend a small restaurant Gorki, eat outdoors, great menu choices, around 8 or 9 euros for mains. The hotel pool was closed (only open summer months) and the leisure centre was closed when we visited on Sunday. The free mini-bar was appreciated - water, soft drinks and beer. Taxi costs around 15 euros to the airport for 2, including 2 suitcases, I think its slightly less on weekdays, but there is a taxi rank literally outside the hotel. A word of advice - Malaga closes down completely and seems to sleep on Sundays so you will have difficulty in finding a restaurant open, particularly if there's a football match on! Touristy things were also closed on Sunday and some on Monday, so check before you go. Plenty to see and do - shopping, the market, ancient sites and buildings and good food. We hope to return and would definitely stay at the same hotel. Shop around for rates - we got 94 euros for Sunday, 124 euros Monday and Tuesday (incl breakfast) through eBookers:)
Convenient and modern

We stayed in this hotel in April. We weren't on an executive floor, and as such didn't have any slippers or bathrobe. The free mini bar was appreciated (a range of soft drinks, and a bottle of beer).
The rooms were clean (although the net curtains were in need of a wash). We had a room with a balcony with a view on the port (and the construction that is taking place there). With the window open there is a lot of noise from the traffic, but with the windows shut it is quite peaceful, although we were occasionally disturbed by the toilet flushing in neighbouring rooms.
The buffet breakfast was very good, and is available until noon on weekends. All the staff (except one exceptionally grumpy receptionist) were very friendly.
The hotel is conveniently situated next to the cathedral, with shops and restaurants, bars and museums a short walk away. We would stay in this hotel again.
Great Location, Beautiful hotel!

We found that the AC Palacio to be very centrally located to just about everything! Shopping, restaurants, cultural, historical and arts. This is a gorgeous hotel while in Malaga. The amenities were quite sufficient and we enjoyed it very much. You can walk to just about everything while staying here!
