carriage ride
by Jjanusz1jewelry
My favorite thing was the horse and carriage ride in the center of Malaga. Picking a favorite thing was tough- Malaga is so interesting- beautiful cathedral, gorgeous sea views - travel on the coast- skip the auto pista- a modern highway but NOT scenic. We visited the Picasso Museum- a must see! We ate tappas in the little sidewalk cafes- we like all the little nook and cranny shops- and the people are so friendly. We liked the lazy slowness of the costa del sol- ah- siesta. And almost everything does close during siesta- no joke.

The first time I came to the Costa del Sol I stayed in Calahonda. The area’s proximity to Málaga and Marbella make it a great base from which to explore the coast. Amenities abound with sports clubs, restaurants and bars and the atmosphere is friendly and family orientated. Between Calahonda and Elvira lies the picturesque port of Cabopino with its pretty beach, restaurants and charming apartments.
ANTEQUERA
by Carmela71
Driving north from Malaga through the mountains, you will arrive to ANTEQUERA
The town has some interesting monuments like the Arabian Castle and the Puerta del Arco de los Gigantes. Lots of interesting religious buildings are the Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor and the churches Iglesia del Carmen and Iglesia de Belén.
And do not forget a visit to El torcal and The Dolmens !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A paerfect day out from the tourist coast!!!!!!!!
Dreamer's Dance Club
by gabriellefox about Dreamer's Dance Club
Although the club did come highly recommended by my hairdressers, I found it was overpriced and over rated.
If you can pick up your free entry and drink pass it will be worth checking out, if not I wouldn't bother. Being based in Puerto BAnus I would suggest you dress to impress.
"Pescaito frito"
by pginer about Just on the beach
This is very tipycal! Just go to the beach and there are restaurnats everywhere. Tables and chairs are just on the sand.
Fire is made inside boats (you can see in the picture) and sardines are put ina stick (also in the pic).
Someone told me only here sardines can be cooked like that because Malaga is near Gibraltar and these sardines have to strugle against running waters. Therefore, these sardines have strong muscles and they can be hangged from the stick.
Sardines in Valencia are much more comfortable and do not have muscles ... thay should be cooked in the oven ...
