More about Dona Lola Club Resort

Awesome food! Wonderful hosts! Family atmosphere!

by daveasm3 about Millikin's Restaurant

This small restaurant offers incredible, gourmet food, very friendly and comfortable surroundings at very reasonable prices. My wife & I discovered it late during our trip to Mijas and Dona Lola resort. We only had two possible chances to dine here and after our first experience we made it a point to get back. We tried a variety of 4 dishes, including jamon & fish, we shared between us the different dinners and enjoyed all of them. The husband is a wonderful British gourmet cook who really enjoys what he is doing, takes pride in his work and it shows!

by haboob

We are heading down to Malaga area and have a place at the Macdonald Dona Lola Resort. I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed there and how it was. Thanks for any input.

Hi
Have stayed in the area lots but not in that resort. We have a time share owned by MacDonalds and the standard is very good. The only thing I can tell you is that you need to do a bit of travelling to get the best of the area. I don't know whether you are hiring a car or not but if not there is a good bus/train service. If you are just into relaxing by the pool then all the pictures of that resort I have seen look good. We like to get out for one day and chill the next. There's plenty to see - hope you enjoy it.

Travel Tips for Málaga

Ronda

by Helga67

You can go to Ronda on a daytrip. We took the car and drove about 1.5 hours to get there. The old and new town of Ronda are separated by El Tajo, a 100m-deep gorge. To get to the old town, you'll have to pass a beautiful old bridge, reaching deep into the gorge. Don't look down if you have fear of heights :-).

We only visited the old town. It was lovely with one main street and many small alleys to wander around. There is a nice shady square in front of a beautiful church.

Ronda is very touristic.

What we did it last friday

by lina112 about La botellita

Well we went to La botellita one of the most famous and cheapest bars on Malaga old town. Drinks cost 3 euros or 3.50 euros, and is served in littles bottles the music is very nice and we had a very good time there.

La botellita es uno de los bares mas conocido y baratos de Málaga. Las bebidas cuestan entre 3 euros y 3.50 euros y son servidas en pequeñas botellas, la música está muy bién y es un sitio muy agradable para pasar un buén rato.

Don`t walk by!

by IanMacPhail about Pizza-Mare

This restaurant was only 5 minutes from our hotel, the Don Marco, and we went there for an excellent lunch.
We shared an excellent mixed salad and then we both had the Swordfish. It was big and thin and really lovely!
The service was great and friendly although I should point out that it wasn`t too busy at the time. The beer was okay too!

Oldest tapas bar in Malaga

by Senoritasmile about Casa de La Guardia

This is basically a bar that has a few seasonal tapas available, usually seafood. However, it's charm lies in the fact that it is filled with HUGE barrels of all different types of sherry - you just have to take pot luck and point at one, give it a try and then on to the next! never been one for the tipple of grandma's BUT I truly enjoyed my samplings. The bar staff just keep a running tab chalked on the bar next to you. It's only a small place but is a very popular starting point for an evenings wandering and tapas tasting.
