Off Season
by sleepingwolf
Going to Spain in the "Off Season" os great because it not so packed with tourists. Of course even when it is full of tourists it is hard to find one from the US which adds to the adventure and sense of really being in a different place. I miss everything about Spain! Mostly I miss the lesuirely attitude, the long lunchs, walking every where and the wine!

In case you have a similar wish as myself (learning foreign languages) a VERY practical, useful and fun idea would be to enroll at some Spanish language course (3, 4,5 or more weeks) at any of the local schools. I mean, they find a good accommodation, you have fun classes that DO NOT occupy the whole day, you meet new people and... need I add more.
Consider it as an idea! "International dinner" - "bratwurst" served together with "paella" and some macedonian "tarator" and "moussaka"....
talking about globalization!

Donkeys and Flamingos in Fuente de Piedra
by Senoritasmile
If you're out travelling Malaga Province by car, stop by Fuente de Piedra, a small town in the north that is famous for having one of the largest natural lakes, with over 170 different bird species. It is spectacular to visit when flamingos migrate here in their 1000's.
The same town has a small donkey sanctuary, run by volunteers where there are over 120 donkeys of all shapes, sizes and ages that have been rescued from dire circumstances and are now well-cared for. They love visitors. Sanctuary is close to the Hotel Conde de la Laguna. Follow navy blue sign posts for 'Refugio de Burritos'. Say hello to white Farruquito - we adopted him :-)

Check out the nightlife in 'Puerto Banus'!
You really get to see the 'high society' there. The people there are really TOO rich. No matter what you wear, everyone will always notice you're a tourist.
AMERICAN STYLE RESTAURANT
by LoriPori about FOSTER'S HOLLYWOOD
After a wonderful day in Malaga, Hans and I wanted to treat Carmen and Stace for dinner. We went to the Plaza Mayor, a huge shopping, cinema & restaurant complex just outside Malaga.
The restaurant was bright and featured pictures of Hollywood stars. Carmen and Stace had the Texas Combo for Two @ 25,95 Euro. It was a wonderful mix of ribs, chicken wings, and sausage together with a bowl of beans and a bowl of coleslaw. Hans had baby back ribs which came with a baked potato @ 12,95 Euro and I had half barbecue chicken which came with a baked potato and garlic bread @ 8,45. The meals, when we finally got them were delicious.
