Basic hotel near the airport
Kat and I had early morning flights from Malaga so we selected the Ibis Hotel which was only a couple of km away from the airport. I've stayed in several Ibis hotels in Europe and they are basic, clean, spartanly decorated hotels but perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Kat said it reminded her of a prison cell, I thought it reminded me more of a dorm room although much better decorated than mine-ha, ha!
Since we were close to the airport, there really wasn't much around the hotel. I saw a large Carrefour store as we were coming in and the desk staff gave us directions on how to get there on foot since we were near a highway and several busy roads. There's also a McDonald's and a Burger King within walking distance.
Unique Quality: Our room had two beds, one double bed and one Murphy bed (single bed that folds into the wall). The bed was a little on the hard side.
The shower had plenty of hot water, the only toiletry was a soap dispenser bolted to the wall that is meant for both shampoo and soap.
There was no hair dryer, room safe or refrigerator. I believe there was internet access in the lobby for a fee but didn't have any reason to use it. Breakfast is an extra charge, we got ours at the local grocery store.
