We are arriving Malaga, Monday 15 decembre via train from Madrid and need to pick up car at airport. Is it best to taxi or another train?
Please consider you could also reach the airport by bus (www.emtsam.es): frequency is every 30 minutes from 6.30 to 24.00. Trains also leave every 30 minutes, but stop is in terminal 2. Anyway taxi are not so expensive in Spain, so this could be a good alternative in saving time.
Well, I’ll make some room in these notes for the LARIOS center even though it is not a Spanish thing: just a modern shopping mall, with obviously incredible shops and places to take a bite. If you have a lot of time in Málaga, you could visit it. aaaaah, ZARA :-)
Quite a drive away from Malaga, on its north-west side there is an area called El Chorro. You will have to pass the villages C?rtama, Pizarra and Alora. Take the A357 from Malaga.
El Chorro is a natural area referring to the valley and mountains that surround the river Guadalhorce. The crevice created by the river is called La Garganta del Chorro.
El Chorro has many artificial lakes: reservoirs. Some of them have a wonderful natural look and they all make the area loved by the Spanish, who spend their weekends here to relax.
On the occasion of the 'opening' of the area by King Alfonso XIII a path was made, called Camino del Rey. This path is more or less a ledge created along an incredibly steep mountain wall of one of the chasms. These crevices can be 180 meters deep at certain points.
Although the Camino del Rey was a nice path in 1921, it is now filled with holes and is very dangerous to walk over. Some people have died trying to walk along it to the end, so don?t try. You should go and take a look though, because it?s a spectaculair sight.
Puerto Banus. Darren tries to join the Magnificent Seven! This was some type of 'sports' bar. The clientele were very entertaining. On this site, I cannot say more, apart from the fact that they were amateurs, and the ones next door were professionals!
The best web site is Iberia www.iberia.es, you can get return tickets for 60 euros in most of the direct flights of Spain if you book online in advance ...
