Bus Terminal

by sugarpuff

Quick question..

Is there just one bus terminal in Malaga or several. My mum will be travelling from La Linea to Malaga on Thursday on a Portillo Bus, and then going onto Almeria on an Alsa Bus. The same goes for her return, but she was wondering if Portillo and Alsa buses operate from the same bus terminal in Malaga as she only has a 15min gap between her change of bus.

Thanks for all the info you can give!

Hi Sugarpuff, seem to remember that bus station is the same.
See this site for further infos, and happy travel to your mum!

Hi..yes, i too found this website but they don't mention all buses leaving from here so that's why I asked my question. I think the answer is that they do only have one bus station so my mum should be fine!

Thank you for your help!

Travel Tips for Málaga

the modern side of the city

by Malecka

Another nice place is Plaza de la Constitución, full of people, especially cause of shops like “Mango,” “Benetton,” “Pull and Bear” and the ultimate “ZARA.” (I am not trying to advertise it – it is just that I have bought ten shirts from that place)
(and there's always the much-visited El Corte Ingles, and the Larios shopping cener/mall)

City windows

If you happen to be there, look for a nice spanish architecture and reflections of moorish tradition. I found the house with their balconies and windows really fascinating.
Had this feeling as if I were in Cuba (i've never been to Cuba:).

be there or be square

by Jitka_79 about Plaza de la Merced

When you are lucky and do a weekend trip to Málaga, then you just have to go to the Plaza. Thursdays, fridays and saturdays (and also the days before a holiday) it is the place where the party starts. It seems as if the whole youth of the city is reuniting there to drink a couple of drinks. It´s called "Botellón". To watch opther people drink and have fun it is really nice, if you stay in Málaga longer than a month it might become boring.
But - nevertheless - you have to be there at least once! Wear whatever you like - since you are standing in the cold of the night, wear at least a scarf (only in winter time) - since you are going to a club afterwards - don´t wear any of you Sunday afternoon dresses!

Train Service from Málaga...

Train Service from Málaga Airport to Málaga City and Fuengirola

The train station is outside the international terminal. Take the lift in the arrivals hall up to the Departures hall. Walk outside onto the upper level parking area, and turn right. Follow the signs over the footbridge to the train station.

Shout for your dinner and then grab a plate!

by Senoritasmile about El Tintero

If you are in Malaga, you have to eat here - to miss it would be a wasted opportunity!

This restaurant is unique in so much as there is no menu - waiters constantly stream from the direction of the kitchen (or the beachside grills) with large trays full of plates, shouting what they have!! 'Gambas, pulpo, calamares, rosada....' all manner of seafood and fish and you have to catch their attention and shout out if you want something they've got! It's great fun! but it is always very busy so you really have to make yourself heard (personal tip: sit close to the kitchen!!!) The food is fresh and tasty too.

Unusually for Spain, serving starts at 1ish (get there earlier to park and get a table) and Sundays get particularly busy.

At the end of your meal, the waiter just counts up the number of empty plates on your table. Each plate is 5 euros.
