Parador Gibralfaro

Every Hotel "Parador" type are special type of hotels. Malagas Parador is in the top of the mountain from you can have a wonderful view of Malaga. A beaufiful place to have a very special night. Near the Gibralfaro Castle, the Parador of Gibralfaro is also a very good place to have a dinner.
As it is located at the top of the mountain you will have to take a taxi for comming back at night. During the day you can take buses to go to Malaga or to come back the hotel. It is very dificult to have a room in special days. So if you want to have a unforgetable night you will have to make your reserve with long time of advance

Unique Quality: I have never been here, but have try many times to reserve a room for a weekend, and it was always full. Perhaps because I have always try to reserve with little time of advance. I will not go to the other wold without having a night in El Parador de Gibralfaro.

Listen weel and you will hear history: Gibralfaro

Built in the 1300. Great place to spend a few hours! Loved It!

Was built to protect the Alcazaba.

Price 3.00 Euros to visit the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro!

Worth the price :-)

Gibralfaro

The views from the Gibralfaro, over the bay and the Roman Theatre, are spectacular, and well worth the walk up. There you will find the Gibralfaro's castle.
To get up you can go walking following the ruins from "La Plaza de la Merced" or you can take a bus that will let you
just there. As you are up there I sugest you to have a drink or tapa at the "Parador de Gibralfaro" in its terrace.

* There is now a small charge to visit the Alcazaba (3 euros for that and
Gibralfaro combined) but both are free on Sundays after 1400 hrs.( this is update, a new VT member , Iomond1, wrote me and tell me)

by Moose86

Will be in Malaga 9 Dec (national holiday). Will the city shut down for the day? Will there be any special events? Will shops be open?

Many thanks!
