by alaird67

Hi all, would really appreciate your help - new to VT . have just booked 2 nights (March 2009 Fri & Sat)stay in Petit Palace Plaza hotel Málaga, its opposite Málaga’s famous lop-sided Cathedral, on the corner of Calle Larios. We are a mixed age group of 6 ladies aged from 21 - 40 can anyone suggest

1. somewhere nice to eat for breakfast as well as nice resturants for evening meals.

2. Pub / club (not too wild lol) etc to go for good nights entertainment maybe some cocktails, dancing etc.

3. Any advice for travelling to and from airport, I know its not far away bout 10km but whats best transport

4. And finally has anyone any knowledge of the hotel etc

All advice/ replies greatly appreciated. We Dont speak any spanish lol so should be fun! but hey its an adventure.

many thanks A

Travel Tips for Málaga

The concrete river

by Geoff_Wright

Málaga is split into two halves by the Guadalmedina River, which flows from the mountains some 30 miles or so away. The River is much prettier in the mountains, and runs throuch the city in a, well, sort of concrete trough ( for flood relief purposes!). I didn't think it al all picturesque, although you can walk alongside the river here, and there are the odd fountains and so on. On one side of the River lies the older city, and on the other is the much more modern city.

Go for a walk

by RAINBOWWINGS

If you do happen to hire a car and go off exploring, take the opportunity to park out in the countryside and just go for a walk.
The clean air, the smell of the wild flowers and the occasional animals you might meet on the way, all make for a great way to relax and take in the surrounding beauty.

There are many clubs in and around Fuengirola. GO to Buenalmadena, or try and go to the famous clubs in Marbella/Puerto Banus to Club Oliviera or the Living Room. The bars in Fuengirola are abundant since the Europeans took over most of the ownership in the area, so you'll definitely get your fix of good beer and spirits.

Bar

by lina112 about El Pitas

It was friday night and we went to celebrate that my friend getting marry next saturday and we went to pitas bar. Is the right place on Malaga old town to have a good pita or any of the selection of arab food they serve.

Es el mejor sitio del centro de Málaga donde sirven pitas. Tienes donde elegir, desde la pita con pollo, cordero, vegetariana, picante, etc y una gran selección de platos tradicionales arabes.

Lunch at the plaza de la merced

by PrincessMonja about Lechuga

Nice little bar restaurant with a good atmosphere.

It says it does 'salads & tapas' on it's card - and it does indeed do salads and tapas! I had the 'menu del dia' - which was Italian salad (tomato, basil and mozzarella with salad leaves and balsamic dressing); chicken and garlic with potatoes and a rocket salad and a coffee (although I could have had a chocolate brownie instead - but was too full!! damn!) All very tasty.
