INSIDE THE CHURCH OF THE ENCARNACION
If you get the chance, you really must go inside the Church of the Encarnacion. It really is magnificent. The church is filled with statues, sculptures and paintings. The Madonna is overlooking the ornate altar.

I'll be in Marbella for 3 weeks this September with my fiance, we have a place to stay but are looking for neat places to visit, eat, and just take a nice walk. We are on a budget-if you have any suggestions for innexpensive places to go, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Marbella isn’t the cheapest Spanish resort but there is a fantastic choice of good places to visit. The roads are excellent and I would consider hiring a car, we shared the cost with another couple we met and had a fabulous time just exploring the area.
On a budget: There are numerous organised trips advertised everywhere which are obviously cheaper that car hire and public transport is excellent too. You can get train from Fuengirola (about halfway between Malaga and Marbella) or just go to the bus station in the early morning and see what’s going where.
Seville is wonderful and manageable (worth an overnight) Ronda and the other ‘white towns’ (in particular Mijas and Nerja) are beautiful too.
Further afield: I would recommend first Granada and the Alhambra, we also went to Gibraltar (maybe only interesting for Brits) you can even get to Morocco.
I haven’t been for 5 years so I won't try and advise on places to eat except to say stay just off the front or the highly popular areas and ask others.
The authentic Spanish bars are excellent (you need to try the tapas). Most of the inexpensive places (the Chinese buffet’s and the Argentinian Steak House etc) are not particularly romantic but there’s nothing wrong with them, have a look at the most recent VT tips.
You have plenty of time to investigate what’s on offer, so keep posting, I’m sure VT Marbella regulars will be in the forum soon with more detailed advice.
Regards
Mark

It is a custom in many towns and villages to leave doors open in order that visitors may take a peep inside churches and other buildings. This view was taken through the metal grille in front of this beautiful church. Unfortunately i have misplaced its name, but I'm sure Carmen will tell me.
Around November, there is place the Feria de Muestras at the Exhibition and Congress Palace on the main road
Since the begining that was very small, the importance of this fair was grown. Anyway personaly my favorite is the food tents lol great days to have some food or wines from other areas of Spain
Also so buy many things that they offer oyu there....
I asked our concierge to recommend someplace really special, and this wonderful magical restaurant was my top choice from their suggestions.
From the front approach it looks like an ordinary private house, but as you enter you are greeted by a wonderful spiral staircase and then a series of luxurious dining rooms. There's a definite fairytale theme with the emphasis on the sun moon and stars. Perhaps wizardry is more appropriate a name. There are floating drapes and ornate lanterns. A wraparound conservatory affect allows all around views into the lovely gardens.
We started in those gardens with a little aperatif. Candles were lit on our table and, as dusk fell, fairy lights began to twinkle as more elaborate lanterns were lit to add to that magical affect. A glass covered swimming pool is surrounded by plants and thick green foliage. All you can hear is the sound of the birds and a gentle breeze rustling through the trees.
We had arrived unfashionably early, so we were the only ones there for about an hour. Complete and utter relaxation and luxury. The menu was divine and the choice impossible.
A romantic suggestion is BALCON DE LA VIRGEN in the old town Remedios 2 Street (You will get a very nice photo of that corner). or Casa Eladio, another great one...
My favorite is POZO VIEJO, at Plaza Altamirano, also in that square you have a great old place for typical fried fish Malaga style.
