PARQUE DE LA ALAMEDA
by LoriPori
If you walk along the Avenida Del Mar, you will come to Marbella's "Central Park" which is PARQUE DE LA ALAMEDA. It really is an amazing place, with its fountains, sculptures, tropical flowers like jasmines and bouganvilleas and gardens, exotic flora and fauna. Hans and I, along with Carmen and Stace strolled through this beautiful park which runs along Avenida Ramon y Cajal and is halfway between Paseo Maritimo and Old Town.
Its fountain Fuente Virgen Del Rocio was the meeting place for our recent VT Meeting.
La Cuenta
by nereid
When you go to a restaurant in the US, the server is usually very attentive, and constantly checking up on you to ask "Is everything OK?" And before you've even finished your meal, the check is at your table. They want you to eat, pay, and leave. This gets really annoying here in the US. Not so in Spain (or Mexico, Morocco, the Caribbean or Italy for that matter). The server usually leaves you alone to dine in peace and will not bring the check until you ask for it. The "look" does not work. When you're ready, simply flag down your server and say, "La cuenta, por favor." Otherwise, you will sit there all night.

The main avenue in Marbella (the ancient road) go across all the city and it has diferents names. It's called Ramón y Cajal where it pass next to the old town. The next name, in the way to Puerto Banús, is Ricardo Soriano. It's the business area and there are lots of clothes shops in this area, mainly for women.

Great Food-Great Service
by patsycody about La Parilla de Laurita
The food, service and ambiance of this restaurant were all excellent, the prices were good and the staff efficient and friendly, we were so impressed with dinner that we returned for lunch the next day. The whole dining experience was a refreshing change after being ripped off at La Pesquera the day before. Couldn't pick a favourite, paella was fantastic, with more fish in it than you could eat. The mussels and fish soup were amazing and for any fishophobics the steaks are to die for.
