Convent Square
I had a feeling Carmen, our host, said she went to the Convent in this square, haha. Anyway, here is another attractive looking building in the Convent Square, near the old town, but I can't find my notes about it.

me and my friend are thinking of going to puerto banus from the 14th june until 30th september was just wondering if anyone knows where where the best place to stay would be thats quiet cheap but still nice
thank youx
Puerto Banus is a small area of Marbella, which isn't too big, itself. What in the world are you planning to do there? I doubt if anyone could stay there for more than 4 days without going nuts This area is VERY expensive.
Hope that your Spanish is better than your English; "heya"????
What an arrogant person you are "virtual786". Keep off the forum if all you can do is criticise a persons English... How many languages do you speak?? Doh...
To answer the question, check out hotels nearby between Puerto Banus and San Pedro. You will find them cheaper than towards Marbella. there are busses that cover the area, and they give cheap transport. Look up hotel tips under San Pedro de Alcantera here on VT
Opps, that should be: San Pedro de Alcántara

Located in the heart of OLD TOWN, the PLAZA DE LOS NARANJOS is without question the most popular Square in Marbella. Surrounding the Square is the Town Hall, the Governor House and the Chapel of Santiago. The Square contains beautiful gardens, Orange trees, Trees with bell-like flowers, a bust of King of Spain Juan Carlos and in the good weather. patio tables set up by the various restaurants in the Square. Just around a corner is a 17th century fountain ( 1704 )
By far, the most impressive area of Puerto Banus is THE MARINA. Here you will find the biggest, the most luxurious and for sure, the most expensive yachts in the whole Costa Del Col. Hans and I saw one after another of these beautiful homes on the water. Some were just absolutely unbelievable. Pure Luxury!! As we walked along the pier, I think we had our mouths wide open the whole time.
There are lots of informal restaurants along the seaside walk, called "chiringuitos". Whatever you decide to stop and eat you'll taste the delicious local fishes at reasonable prices.
What is giving the difference between a "chiringuito" and a regular restaurant is that they're placed directly on the beach, its floor is sand, there are no walls and, sometimes, tables are amoung palm trees and sunshades.
In particular, my favourite dish are skewers of sardines ("espetos"), fresh anchovines and whitebait. You can see what's the way they prepare the sardines!
En particular, mis platos favoritos son los "espetos" de sardinas, los boquerones y los chanquetes. ¡Podeis ver cómo se preparan las sardinas!
Great location on the first floor overlooking the Plaza de la Victoria. Many tables for two are situated on the small terraces, the best location if the weather is mild or warm. The standard of service is excellent and you will recieve a warm reception from the staff. The food is very diverse with some very interesting and unusual combinations. It has influences from around the world, that are a delight to try. Nothing we had could be faulted and I would return again. my menu consisted of....
Salmon served with ceaser salad and foie grass, for desert try the pistacio mousse.
totally awesome food.
