Malaga Area

by tas12

Hi Folks
A few mates and myself are travelling to the Malaga area for a weeks golfing holiday at the end of February, we were looking for advice on a couple of subjects:
a) a rough guide to the expected temperatures at that time
b) where to go and not to go at night
c) the best bars for having a laugh and party.
Cheers
Tom

Hi there Tom welcome to VT, so you are going to play Golf in spain eh , that will be great The Bar scene I cannot help you there , the weather when we where there early March we had great days mid 70's
and we had some cloudy cooler days mid 60's.
There are many Golf courses in the area but the one we drove by in the mountainside looked fantastic.
It is very close to Malaga and right in the mountains near Alhaurin del Grande. Just go to Google and punch in Alhaurin Golf course , and there will be tons of pages on this great Golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros. Good luck with your Golfing vacation in Spain. Hans

Travel Tips for Marbella

A good look at what the Chapel's looks like

by Waalewiener

This is what the Chapel's look like , I think I have seen almost a dozen of these type of Chapel's in many places in Spain.
I comment the Spanish people to make and keep these peaceful places in such great condition.

El Tostón, a family tradition in the country .

by Beach_dog

November 1st. is a sad day, when people celebrate their departed loved ones. Its a national holiday in Spain. Around Marbella and the province of Malaga the day is marked with more cheerful celebrations. The families travel into the hills for the traditional Tostón. The roasting of 'chestnuts', which are then eaten with a glass of 'Anisette'. This occurs especially around the villages of Nagüeles, Ojén and Puerto Rico Bajo.

ARMAND BASI

by Carmela71

Elegance and comfort is what it’s all about in the Armand Basi collections, especially in the new one. Love this designer... specially for men, but his perfume for women is great too.

Shops at Marina Banus and La Cañada

Great seafood!

by tere1 about Restaurante Antonio

The Antonio Restaurant is situated in Puerto Banus, the marina. It serves excellent fish and seafood dishes and it's one of the favourites of the people who regularly go to Marbella, or live there.

It has a very nice atmosphere at night, with candle light and the seafood paella is the best I ever had. Everything is very fresh, with a good variety of excellent wines and has also a great service. The seafood paella and the seafood fried mix.

FISH & SEAFOOD

by Carmela71

For fish go to EL FARO at Playa del Puerto Deportivo.

Or FREIDURIA MIRAFLORES at Avda. del Mercado,22. where normally goes the people of Marbella, ask for a fritura.

Also go to LA VENECIA at plaza de los Olivos, or to ALTAMIRANO at plaza altamirano.

If you go to the beach chiringuitos ask for 'espetos'

Other options:

CALIFORNIA Avda. Severo Ochoa, 21They used to be very good ones, but last year i went a few times, and the food had not the quality that used to be, hope hey ahve improved, as they were great. I had heard now is better, we were going this weekend but it was closed until december)

Do not go to La pesquera or Santiago, expensive the 2nd and awful service the 1st one
