Marbella's Roman Ruins
by Martin_S.
Stacey took us to see this Roman ruin near Marbella (no it is NOT in the city center, it is located in one of the outlying suburbs). It was closed when we arrived, it has never been open for viewing inside it looked like, there were no paths or opening hours posted. But you can see in the last photo how Stacey and I did view the mosaics...
The main, or central motiv appears to be either an emperor, or if you have a more vivid imagination it could be Medusa...
Paseo Maritimo
by Carmela71
There something very tipical for spanish people, is the "paseo" afternoon, people get dress and walk along the promenade or main street of their cities.
We have that use here too, and all the year you will find lots of people walking along the paseo until late at night, or doing sports during the day (all year)
Real Flamenco
by daarth
You can watch a flamenco show done by professionals, and that is quite impressive. But there is nothing like a local show, were the family of the dancers are among the audience. It gives quite an atmosphere :-)

Paella!!! Fish was good too
by Suet about Restaurante Sol de Europa
You can eat in or out, the cafe style suited the people watchers. The promenade was just feet away and watching people strolling by added to the European atmosphere. I had the delightful experience of watching a small puppy play with an older dog for about 20 minutes, up and down the promenade, in and out of peoples' legs....
The palm trees create a tropical feel, the hothouse plants add to that impression and the sun was not too hot in May. A pleasant way to spend the afternoon. I just love paella... the colours, the combinations of flavours, but most of all the seafood. With chilled white wine or a nice cold beer, it went down very well indeed.
Starters for me was Gapazcho soup. Chilled soup is a rare delight for me, normally being too cold to have it at home. The sun set it off just nicely!
The dessert was a fantastic choccy mouse thingy in a glass, nice and light, not too filling.
