morocco

we are a group of 10,from india, visiting marbella for a week.
we wish to take a day trip to morrocco....
please advice the visa procedure?
Re: morocco
by MaheshSamtani
The difficulty of getting a visa for entry into Morrocco depends on the passport you are holding. I had an Indian passport before and was difficult to get a visa, but did get it after a lot of paperwork and many formalities. If you are holding EU passports, there is no visa requirement.
If you decide to get there, the fastest way would be from a place called Tarifa which is in the province of Cadiz, with a distance of 125 kilometers between the 2 cities. there is a bus service doing this route. Once in Tarifa you have a fast ferry that takes you to Tangier in 35 miutes with a cost of 33 euros a person - one way. Probably too much of hassle and expenses for a day trip.
Visiting Morrocco surely would be interesting and might need more than a day trip. Once in marbella you will find travel agencies selling weekend trips to Tangiers with hotel included at a price of around 72 euros, which you might want to consider. These travel agencies might also help you solve the visa matter so talk to them as soon as you get there or if possible before getting there, probably through the travel desk of the hotel where you wil be staying.
Hope this helps.
best regards
Mahesh

Travel Tips for Marbella
Casco Viejo
by Carmela71
TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE
by LoriPori
The Town Hall, along with the TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE is located in the Plaza do los Naranjos (Square of Orange Trees).
Since I did not get a picture of the Tourist Office, I am substituting it for a picture of three "very cool" tourists. He He!! I am sure you will find what you need to know at the Tourist Office.
You can also phone 34-952 82 35 50 for information.
Day trip to Ronda.
by Beach_dog
If I have visitors to Marbella, one of the first places I take them is Ronda. The town straddles the 120 meter deep gaping gorge of the River Tajo. It's an impressive sight and really not to be missed if you are in the area. Ronda also has some very interesting architecture; palaces, convents and the bridges that themselves span the gorge.
You can drive to Ronda by turning off the N-340 motorway near San Pedro de Alcantara (signposted Ronda). Taking the road through the scenic Sierra de Ronda mountains, a trip worth doing in itself just for the scenic drive.
Buses are available regularly from Marbella bus station.
Trains are available from Algeciras, Granada and Malaga and stations on route. Timetables can be found at this site...

Excellent Cafe con Leche
by keida84 about Gino Ginelli
A small seaside restaurant that offers excellent coffee and pastry. An easy relaxed and unhurried pace surrounds the tables and chairs near the boardwalk. Dappled sunshine plays across the square making it an enticing place to pass a bit of time. The Cafe con Leche (coffee with milk) was out of this world and I highly recommend it to any and all coffee drinkers. The "Napolitana" a pastry with chocolate was definitely stale and inedible. However, this did not turn me away from getting another cup of cafe con leche. Who needed the calories anyway?
There is a very good place in oldtown!!!
by noirroi about Buenaventura
Simply by occasion we found this restaurant. But it was our lucky evening - the best dinner in Marbella. The restaurant is situated in the inner yard of the building near Iglesia and is buried in verdure and flowers. The stuff is very nice and friendly, the kitchen is close to a high level, the wine list is short but consists only of very good wines. We tried a Gourmet Menu (75 euro per person) and a bottle of white original wine from Rioja (65 euro). The bill was 260 euro but it was value for money.
