Our swimming pool is closing!
Can anyone help please? we've privatley booked a lovely villa in Nerja, but we've just been told the comunal pool has to close! Does anyone know of a public pool we can use or a hotel that allows non residents to use (for a fee).
Any suggestions gratefully recieved or I'm going to have a very unhappy 5 year old for a fortnight!

The only hotels I know with swimming pools are the Nerja Parador and the Hotel Marinas de Nerja, the second one is a bit out of the town. Don't know if they are open to non-residents. As far as I know there is no public pool, I've never seen any evidence of one.
There are however two smalllish beaches close to the Balcon de Europa which look ideal for someone with a young child. Both are close to restaurants, cafes, icecream stalls, etc and small enough that the child won't get easily lost. There are usually a lot of other families on them.
There is also a Donkey sanctuary now in Nerja, so if your child likes animals you could visit here, they sometimes have pups as well.
There is also a nice playpark on the way into Frigiliana so if you want to visit there, you would have somewhere handy for the little angel to play afterwards.

I do feel for you but I must admit that I am at a loss to think of any comunal pool anywhere near Nerja, and I count myself as a bit of an expert as I seem to live there almost as much as I do in England. I, like the other reply, can only offer the Mediteranean sea as a possible alternative.
There is a pool at San Juan Capistrano but that is a good way out from Nerja and also ius supposed to be private for the residents there.
