Great Little Break

We have returned from a really nice weekend break at the Riu Monica Hotel.
The hotel was spotless.the food excellent.the position splendid and best of all only the price only 60 euros per night for 2 people half board which I booked on the hotel website.
We hired a car but the bus service from Malaga is cheap and frequent. A car is a bit of a handicap in Nerja as the roads are narrow and parking is a nightmare .
We will certainly go back to Nerja and try and stay at the Monica.

Great Hotel

Stayed at the Riu Monica for 3 days in April and thought it was a great hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean with nice bathroom. Hotel lobby, grounds, pool area were all lovely with direct access to the beach and prom. Buffet food was plentyfull and cooked fresh, Just a short walk to the centre of Nerja where there are plenty of Bars, Restaurants and shops. A great hotel to stay at.

Bad Bad Bad

Booked on-line directly with Riu to stay at the Hotel Monica, arived with disabled Mum...only to be told when we went to reception that they where overbooked. If you want you can go to our sister Hotel in Torrox 5-8 miles away they had a room there.
Never had this happen before, would'nt touch Riu with a barge pole Beware a confirmed booking with Riu does'nt mean a thing when you get there.

Excelent Hotel in a beautiful town

This lovely Hotel is part of a large group but has the feel of a family run establishment. The manager is attentive and is very "visable".The rooms are a good size and very clean ,nearly all have sea views and balconies.The resturant is self sevice like many in southern Spain but the choice is excellant and varied.Nerja is a great place for an early or late break. A high proportion of British holidaymakers of "mature" years so quiet at nights.Judging by the number of guests who said they had been comming for years this Hotel must be doing somthing right!! A great holiday.If we can make one minor critical point : whoever designed the intrior decor really loves blue.

Good Hotel Great location

Stayed here for two weeks with my mother and Aunt. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We shared a room for three and it was enormous with three "proper "beds. It had a lovely balcony with a direct see view.

Food was plentiful and good quality, plenty choice for everyone. I even head someone asking for gluten free food and the Chef offered to cook her something there and then. great service!

Tv had BBC and ITV which kept my Mother happy so she could keep up with all her soaps. As mentioned before the entertainment intheeveningneeds improving but thebars across the road offer alternatives with quizzes, bingo, flamenca and traditional spanish music.

Good location with the lovely beach in front of the hotel with a number of restaurants for lunch. The walk into the balcon was not too far which was great for two 82year olds. But best to go in themorning when it was not too hot,

Some nice shops especially good shoe shops.

The bus which stop outside the hotel will take you to Burriana beach for 1 euro ...but not until June. we got a taxi for 6-7 euros each way.

All in all a good hotel ...would definitely go back
