Roquetas de Mar
"La Playa!!! Vacation from our Vacation"
Well if you want traquility I think Roquetas in early June, before the schools let out in Spain is a good bet. We loved the atmosphere of the ocean and the lighthouse and paseo maritimo, the walkway from our hotel all along the beach. Our hotel was Zoraida Garden, an older hotel with a great pool, not very good food (we got food poisoning) but a good staff and a lot of amenties. The problem for me was that it was not exactly Spain. There were a lot of Germans and British tourists and I had to content myself with talking to the bartender, my friends over my "movil" and restaurant folks while there if I wanted to mingle with Spanish people. However, as my daughter said, it was our "vacation from our vacation", laying out in the sun was relaxing so was not having to do anything special. I wouldn't do it for more than three days though.
