Loosing its crown ?

I have been here for the last six years - the good news is that the hotel is as clean as ever, the food maintains the high quality of my previous visits, the all inclusive options are incredible value for money - if you are a first timer you will really enjoy this hotel.
However in comparission to recent years there has been a definite slip in standards or at least not moving things on to maintain its high standards. areas that in my opinion need attention are:-
the two week schedule of shows, was often not updated or inaccurrate
Some of the in house shows by thomson were very off the cuff
the traditional end of night disco - has been reduced to 3 songs
Aqua areobics, boules, & water polo - weren't offered this year
the pool area looks a little jaded - and some areas present very sharp edges
of course much of the above, could be down to the fact that I went low season - but I have in previous years as well.
none of the old reps have been retained, from previous years, most of the humour and skylarking was left to the excellent JOJO - the other reps were very forgettable by comparrsion
The fiesta shows were of very high quality - but some new shows should surley be considered - the lion king must be 20 years old by now - likewise Mr & miss palm beach look a bit jaded now.
This isn't a bad hotel, and I had a good time - but if your returning on the basis of previous years ...you may be slightly dissapointed.
What a waste of money!!!

We have just finished our holidays in Ibiza. Fortunately we stayed in Ibiza for four days only and we are happy that it is over! We chose this hotel based on reviews but believe us the hotel is not even two stars!!!!
In Summary:
Staff: are nice and friendly
Rooms: are disaster- bare minimum facilities and not even cleaned properly. Bed sheets are not changed, the shampoo and bath gel are not renewed. For using safety box you have to pay extra and I think for even getting the TV remote you need to pay extra!!!!
Food: is alright, if you are a good eater
The hotel is suitable for people who have a few children and want to stay in the hotel all the time and someone keep their children busy and are happy to live with minimum facilities and eat as much as they can.
Definitely not for couples, please save your holiday.
By the way the planes are still flying over the pool and the hotel.
The best yet - great holiday

Firstly about us. Married, late 30's, 2 children - girl 8 yrs, boy 5. We like good service, cleanliness, good food, and if the kids are happy, then we're happy. We are happy to spend over the odds, if it means we get what we want.
We've been to four 4* complexies in the last 3 years - Majorca, Gran Canaria, Costa del Sol and now this one.
And we are all in agreement, that the Palm Beach is the best holdiay we've had of this kind.
The food is fantastic - better than 5* hotels we've stayed. Great variety and really good quality.
The entertainment was pretty good, though obviously everyone has their own tastes. But is was certainly good enough for everyone we spoke to.
The place itself is VERY clean, and my wife is very fussy - yet she was happy !
The location is perfect - right on the beach front, and the beach itself is clean, safe and fun.
Our kids aren't that bothered about the kids clubs, so I can't really comment, but the couple of times they went, they were happy enough. Certainly loads for them to do if your kids want it.
Pool is great - a kids pool, then a seperate larger pool which graduates to over 2metres deep.
Climate in July perfect - 90c every day.
Rooms are the only blot on the landscape, which is why I think this hotel is a 3* rather than 4*. They are too small really, and although spotlessly clean, need a facelift and general updating. Having said that, if you're only their to sleep and shower - it doesnt really impact the holiday at all.
One trip you must go on if you have kids of school age - The Family Sailing day. It's expensive, but we had a great day. Jumping off boat into sea, snorkling and see lots of fish, BBQ on board - good food too, and lots of beer !
Finally, if you like a drink or too, then pay for the upgrade to all inclusive. Great value (around £200 for the family). I reckon it saved us £100 in meals, bottle water and beer.
We will go back to this hotel again - and would recommend it to anyone considering it.
a great holiday

we have just come back from palm beach club and are hoping to go back next year. we are in our thirties with 2 young children aged 6 and 18 months.
The hotel was very clean and the staff are very friendly. The pool area was lovely and the beach was amazing. It was very clean and the sea was crystal clear and warm. Ideal for kids to play.
The entertainment staff were great with lots of activety to do and shows. The food was brillant and the kids have their own buffet they can reach to help themselves..
Our son aged six loved going to the kids club making new friends and can't wait to go again.
We went on the premier sailing trip with thomson's. we had great day out. the food was good and you could help yourself to drinks.we had reservations at the last minute taking our 18 month old son however there was no problems and we took the pram..
I recommed this hotel to anyone who has young children, the hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport , you do get planes flying over the hotel but it isnt a problem. Can't wait to go again.
Best Holiday We've Had!!!!

This is the best holiday we have had to date. We are a family with two children aged 9 and 2 and there was plenty here to keep them entertained.
The room was fine for it's purpose and was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The air conditioning is fantastic as it has three settings so you can never complain about the heat in your room. Just to mention that the bathroom did have a hairdryer which I didn't realise so took one with me!
We upgraded to the all inclusive drinks and meals option which I feel was thoroughly worthwhile for a family of four for two weeks.
The food variety was excellent for all meals and you eat as much as you want. The kids have plenty to choose from too. You can eat in the restaurant for lunch or you can get snacks like toasties, burgers etc from the poolside snack bar. You can also obtain drinks from the beach bar.
The pool was great for adults and children alike. Our 2 year old decided she didn't want to wear her armbands but was safe in the small pool without them and she gained alot of confidence. The beach front location is ideal and the water is quite shallow , so it is safe for young children. You do have to pay for sunbeds on the beach regardless of colour whereas it is free around the hotel pool.
The fiesta and Thomson reps work tirelessly to keep everyone entertained day and night. We actually participated in quite a few games but they don't pressurise you to join in.
Our children didn't participate in the kids clubs but the reps still knew their names and got them involved at the mini-disco at the beginning of every night. I did take my youngest to the soft play room in the Thomson Kidzone which was small but nicely air conditioned and their is a small playground for younger kids.
We had a day at the Aguamar (Water Park) which is 10mins walk away from the hotel. We had a walk into the centre of Bossa which is a good 30-40mins but their are a few shops near to Space nightclub approx 10mins walk away. The proximity of this hotel to the centre didn't bother us as we had everything we needed in the hotel.
We liked the fact that the airport was so near as we didn't want long transfer times with 2 children. You can hear planes flying over but it wasn't constant and didn't spoil our holiday in the slightest.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to families with young children and will be booking again for next year. Don't forget to get your fiesta book stamped before you leave as you can get a late check-out room free for next time, with your points.
