Nice hotel for the price

We stayed at the Becquer Hotel for 4 days in January '05. While there is nothing fancy about the hotel, the room was clean and we were given a non-smoking room as requested from our online reservation. Additionally, when we asked for our original room to be changed due to it being next to the elevator, it was taken care of immediately. The bathroom was marble and big enough. We found the front desk to be helpful, and the location was great. Perhaps folks who said it was too far to walk to the Cathedral didn't explore enough - there is a pretty quick way to get there. All in all, we enjoyed the Becquer and we would go back, if we're still on a budget of course :)
Location & facilities at Bequer Hotel

Stayed here for 3 days at the end of October 2004. We found it to be an excellent hotel, in a superb location for exploring the main attractions such as The cathedral, Alcazar and Barrio Cruz. The staff & all facilties were as you would expect from a 4* hotel & the breakfast was great. We were given a non smoking room as requested, and garage facilities were smooth if a little expensive. 12 euro per night.

Pros:
Clean and quite. Location is good, close to major tourist attractions but a bit of a hike from the RENFE train station (where I entered town). Price is great (60 Euro/night). I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons:
The key is bulky to carry around. They use an electronic key, but it is attached to a 4 ounce metal medalion of sorts with the hotel name and room number on it (don't lose it!)
Enjoyed great breakfast

This hotel offers great breakfast. Staff were very friendly. Located within walking distance to the Alcazar and Catedral -- about 15 minute walk. Lots of cafes nearby. Also close to El Corte Ingles -- a major Spanish chain department store and grocery store. Stayed at this hotel Feb. 2005

We stayed here at the beginning of April 05 between the Spanish Easter Holy Week and Seville’s Feria Festival. It's a great hotel with nice, friendly helpful staff and a great breakfast buffet. We had a lovely room - spacious with a nice large bathroom decorated in grey granite style. The hotel is ideally situated between the old quarter, the shopping area and the river and it has a fantastic tapas bar right next door which I definitely recommend. We asked for a quiet room away from the lifts/elevators, with a balcony and that's what we got. It faces the street but with the air conditioning on at night you can't hear any noise and we are both light sleepers (one small point it that the air con. could have been a bit cooler but the weather was mild while we were there and I suspect they had turned it down slightly). We had a great view from our balcony of the top of La Giralda - the Moorish bell tower of the cathedral – very romantic. All in all a great place to stay in the really lovely city of Seville.
