Hostal/Budget hotel?

by unaS

Have searched for hours. Looking for a clean, safe hostal or budget hotel in Sevilla. Must be in a neighbourhood safe for a mature woman travelling solo.
The closer to the centre the better of course. Price should be under Euro 55 for a single room.
Thanks.

One of the first hotels I stayed at (when it was newly opened a few years back) was the Alcantara in Barrio Santa Cruz. It is in a very safe tourist area and easy to walk along the narrow alleys to get to the cathedral and Alcazar and other places. Also right next to one of the popular flamenco places called Casa de la Memoria.

That is a fantastic site Pedro - and not just for hostals. It will take a while to go through it. Many thanks.

This may be suitable : DONA TRINIDAD in Barrio Santa Cruz and near plenty of eateries and all the major sights.

Thanks. I checked them out. They require full payment in advance, on booking, and the cancellation policy is punishing. If I should fall and break a leg, then what?

Travel Tips for Sevilla

ARENAL

by Maggies

This part of the city, that lies at the bank the Guadalquivir river, is a real must. The most important place to see here is certainly the bullring, even if you don’t like corrida. Also, you should take a stroll by the river. Its promenade, full of palm trees is really beautiful.

Sweet Sevilla nights,,,

by agarcia

It was fascinating (at least for me), to see how different Sevilla looked by day and by night. For more that I loved the light, the colors, the ambiance of the morning activity of the city, the dark, little streets of Sevilla downtown had something "special" by night... some romantic quality, if you like. At the turn of every corner, there could be a half illuminated neighborhood church, of the image of a virgin, of a group of chaps playing guitar in the middle of the streets, or a young couple looking for solitude. Many things could be found on those empty streets while trying to get lost.

Interesting architecture

by Sharrie

Around the vicinity of Plaza De Espana, there are many interesting buildings such as those pictured above & some of them are those of Plaza de America, Pabellon de Chile, Pabellon de Uruguay & the Neo-Renaissance Pabellon de las Bellas Artes which houses the provincial Museo Arqueologico, which we never get to visit on a tour! You have to go on your own, such a wasted trip :-(( ; but luckily for all of us, there are many architectural wonders in Spain!

Boat cruises

by Carmela71

You can also get boat cruises along the Guadalquivir, there are many boats between San Telmo dridge and Triana bridge for different prices, some offer attractions as concerts, other dinners others just the boat excursion....

We did it in our last visit, you pay 14 euros per person just for lkess than an hour tour to see all the bridges and can not be compared to other boat trips we have done in other cities as Prague or paris as you can not see much, naybe for photography as the angles you can get from the bridges from there ar emuch better of course

Day 30

by into-thin-air

I had originally planed to walk to Rionegro del Peunte but because of a lack of accommodation there had to continue to walk to Mombuey -- 36k -- refugio
So a long but never-the-less ver Pleasant day through some beautiful countryside
Choices of lunch stops along the way !!
