Hosteria Del Laurel

Located right in the centre of Santa Cruz is the Hosteria de Laurel offering 21 room all with full bathroom, aircon/heating and satellite TV. Room service is available and there is a buffet Breakfast.

The hotel also has a restaurant with a Sevillian menu including Tapas. There is also a bar. Both are on the ground floor.

Good location and price

Really nice, big double room, w/AC, big bathroom, right in the middle of the santa cruz district. About 3 minutes walking to the Cathedral.

Fine for a night

As we only live an hour and a half drive from Seville we dont often stop over but on the few occasions that we have we have stayed in the Hotel Hostería del Laurel. Its only a2* but is so central in the Old Jewish Quarter it shouldnt be overlooked. In a tiny square full of orange trees this hotel has 2 floors and 22 rooms on top of a very lively restaurant, which by the way does very good typical Andaluz food....but it can be noisy so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. The rooms are basic and en suite, the Reception area is modern with helpful staff and breakfast is buffet in the restaurant...but it is a bit hit and miss so get there before 9am or there may not be anything left! Its in a great place for wandering the lanes and just a couple of minutes from the Cathedral etc.

Central location in old town Santa Cruz

This is a small hotel set above a buzzy restaurant in a quaint square. Rooms although small, were clean and more than comfortable. View was into an uninspiring courtyard. The restaurant was the piece de resistence. A hearty selection of spanish dishes, entertaining waiters and a regular, lively crowd.

Although this is an ideal location for exploring a lot of the central sights on foot, getting a car down these streets to unload luggage is a no-no, so we parked in a nearby car park. The streets are a narrow maze, so make sure you fix on some landmarks to be able to find your way back!

In the Heart of the Barrio de Santa Cruz

This three-star hotel is situated in the intimate Plaza de los Venerables in the middle of the Barrio de Santa Cruz. Spanish playwright, Jose Zorrilla, wrote his play version of Don Juan and the rooms are named for characters in the story.

Your taxi driver will have to drop you off for the short walk to the hotel as vehicles cannot pass through the narrow alleys that feed into the plaza which is a great thing about the hotel and the plaza as there is no traffic to deal with. The hotel staff are very friendly and the woman at reception, although I’m sure she knew English, allowed me to use my broken Spanish and responded to me in a slow delivery to make it as easy as possible for me to understand her. After spending a total of 5 nights here, the staff came to recognize us and would give us our key or morning hot drink choices without having to ask us. Plus the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet that is included in the price of the room. The buffet has the typical Euro offerings (cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, croissants, bread/rolls, mixed fruit) plus they have scrambled eggs, sausage, and fried ham. Oh and some nice chocolate-filled pastries as well! We got a rate via the Internet of 103 euros but were only charged 97 once we arrived.

Unique Quality: Lift, air conditioning, safe, buffet breakfast included in room rate, good restaurant with al fresco seating in plaza, good housekeeping service. Great central location!

Great Location in Seville

While in Seville, we stayed in the lovely small hotel, Hosteria del Laurel. Its location is perfect. Located in the Barrio de Santa Cruz near the Hospital de los Venerables, the Cathedral & Giralda, as well as the Reales Alcazares.

We walked everywhere.

In addition, the hotel has a great restarurant.
The hotel has 21 air conditioned rooms with private baths, direct dial phone, color TV. The rooms are not large, but they are quite comfortable & immaculate. The location is its finest asset.Tb

It is small and intimate with lovely rooms, beautiful bathrooms, and a wonderful restarurant. There is also an outdoor eating area where we had afternoon drinks.

We were impressed with the beautiful wood throughout the hotel and the many elegant arches.

I really liked the Simon - I do have a review of it on my (very sparse) Sevilla pages. It is a very lovely building, not a luxury hotel, couldn't be more central.

We stayed on the first night at Casa de los mercaderes, really nice, just five minutes to the catedral, in our last visit, we stayed at Hotel apartments Murillo, just at Santa Cruz neighborough, really nice as well. (about 10 minutes to catedral).

We were just there in June and stayed at the Hosteria del Laurel. Check it out at http://www.sevilla5.com/hotels/hosteria-del-laurel.html.

It's located on the very quaint Plaza de los Venerables and is only 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Great staff and good food as well!
