Hotel Zaida

Unique Quality: fairly cheap. A really nice hotel, i think. it has unique decorations. Builded almost as a muslim mosque. Almost. But really great with separate bathrooms and air-conditioning and TV. luxury in my eyes. placed in one of the many small streets of Sevilla close to everything. near the river and VERY near shopping streets and simply located in the heart of the city!

Feedback on Hotel Zaida or Goya

by ali-cat

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Zaida or Hostal Goya? I'm looking for reasonably priced place to stay in Sevilla with my husband in October. Good location is key and a place with some style would be nice. Any advice?
thanks!

Haven't stayed at either of those two. However, two years ago my husband and I stayed at Las Casas de los Mercaderes, which is a renovated merchant's house in the old quarter. Couldn't be a better location. The hotel is friendly and clean and low-key and serves a WONDERFUL buffet breakfast (we still talk about it!!). Don't think they have a web site but google brings up all sorts of agencies that can book you in there. Suggest you ask for a room that isn't at the front of the building. While they only serve breakfast, they do serve snacks in the bar at other times, and there's loads of places nearby where you can eat in the evening.

The alternative mentioned above is a good location, although it's on a different price level than the two you are looking at. Hotel Zaida is clean, has large rooms and in a nice location near the Fine Arts Museum. The same people have been working the desk for many years, which is always nice.

Hostal Goya is recently renovated although I don't know much about the rooms (stayed there before the renovations). Most are big, but a few are small. The location is excellent - maybe 2 minutes from the cathedral and right in the middle of Santa Cruz.

I think Hotel Zaida will be a bit cheaper than Goya, but Goya has a better location. If you want a window on the street Zaida will be quieter. In both make sure you mention this preference or you may be stuck with a room looking into an interior patio. Zaida is on a corner so it has more windows.
