RENTING APARTMENT IN SEVILLE END OF OCTOBER

by loracyellamo

Dear fellow VT members, my husband and I will be in Seville in a few weeks and want to rent an apartment instead of hotel. We are there four nights and prefer to be in the Santa Cruz or Plaza Neuva area this being our first visit. We need at least one bedroom and would love something charming and old world. Any suggestions out there? We would like to stay at $125 US a night or below. From what I see on websites this is doable but I don't know what to trust. All the pictures look great ......Any help MUCH appreciated. And I will post on our return. Thanks.

Hello Pedmar, it was so nice of you to answer as you appear to be traveling outside France. I went to the Seville5 site and saw an apartment that I liked and sent them a request. They replied, it is available, and I think I will take it. So thank you very much! I quickly looked at your bio and recognized your photo in Versailles. We walked to the Palace last year after taking the RER down from Paris for the day. It was a phenomenal experience which we will always treasure! We are going to the Algarve after Seville so I will try the other website you recommended there. Then we are heading back to Malaga to take a ship across to Lauderdale, very close to Hollywood. It is really a small world don't you think? Again thank you for the reply...and I will post when we return, which will be mid-November. Lorac

Travel Tips for Sevilla

Town map

While I was walking along near the Cathedral I came across a rather useful map on the wall. Now perhaps if I had my pocket chisel and hammer I could have taken this away. (haha) But then I thought it might come in handy for other VT'ers.

Sevilla’s Cathedral. This is...

by wayward_son

Sevilla’s Cathedral. This is the third largest Cathedral in Europe (after the Vatican’s St. Peter’s and London’s St. Paul’s) and the largest Gothic church anywhere. The construction took 120 years to complete. The beatiful Architecture of the cathedral is mind blowing. The cathedral was built through three different phases, which includes Moorish windows. If you go do climb the tower for some great views of the city spread out below.

Sevilla resting place (no not THAT kind)

by Martin_S.

One of the much overlooked things that we liked about Spain was that there always seemed to be a bench to sit down and rest your weary feet. This was especially true for tourists who do a LOT of walking. Zohara found this ornate bench in a shady square somewhere in the old section of Sevilla and could not resist taking advantage of the opportunity.

Line breaking

by betis1

Don't be surprised if that little, (seemingly) sweet old lady pushes her way in front of you when you've been waiting for 10 or 15 minutes. And don't be surprised when they attend to her before you. If you're in a store talking to an employee and someone has a question don't be taken aback if they interrupt your conversation to ask a question. I don't recommend you break in line, too, but don't be afraid to push your way through a crowd to get to where you need to go or speak up a little when you need a question answered.

Day 16

Walk to Canaveral -- 33.7k --refugio

Long day with No lunch stop -- Be Prepared !! -- Make sure you start early and avoid the heat, good day but a bit of tarmac in the middle when you have to walk along side a main road over Long bridges to cross a reservoir !!
