Good location but not so good allocation of rooms. Some of the rooms are situated in a separate apartment block a stone's throw away (in my case). As a single female traveller where safety ranked top priority, I had specifically booked a double room. The room was connected to a 6 bed co-ed bedroom with no locks to the room and no privacy whatsoever. That was my main gripe with my stay.
Prices are right though and it's in the middle of a shopping street connecting to the Calle Sierpes. Kitchen is spanking clean and you could cook or heat up meals there.
Centrally located, loads of free services, friendly staff, great people to meet, clean facilities, low price. What more could you ask for?
How about a free bar with good music, cool people, cheap drinks, and a great atmosphere at night.
The separate building where our double room was located was only a block from the main building, and for the most part quiet and comfortable.
This place, the Sevilla location, is even better than Lisbon, providing a bar (both cafes in the morning and drinks at night), free internet, and a separate building where our double room was once again located.
The only negative difference here is that the double rooms are not fully individual. You have to walk through a 4-5 person dorm room to get to the double, and you can't lock the door from them.. but no big problem really except the first night when they were very loud 'til 3am or so.. but that was the only problem we had.
Our room even provided Air Conditioning, controlled by a remote you can pick up at the desk for a 10€ deposit.
The hostel is right at Plaza Encarnacion, a major bus stop (where you can catch a bus direct to the train station), or walk to either bus station; it is also central to shopping, major sights (5min walk from Plaza España, or a bit more to the Cathedral, which we walked to just about every day).
I couldn't recommend this place enough.
Unique Quality: Double rooms available, great location, upbeat and fun private bar, free internet, rooftop terraces.
The bar was a great place to meet other travellers, with friendly staff/bartenders, and a great mix of people.
Getting a double room allowed us the privacy we wanted, when we wanted it, for only 40€/night!
(Dorm beds for 18€/nt)
Directions: Facing the Plaza, with your back to the main street, head into the back-right corner. The hostel is right there.
