Close to the Train Station
Eventually, I just gave up and went with the expensive hotel across from the train station. Expensive is relative of course, lets just say most expensive of my trip to Spain. All the other hotels that had good review at a reasonable price were located quite far from the train station. The Occidental is located on a main road but even though I was looking out over the traffic circle the room was quiet. Across the street was a little mall that has a large grocery store in the basement. This turned out to be very useful, because the train station didn't have any convenience stores to buy treats for the trains. The buffet breakfast was quite well done. I know that's important to some people. Personally, I partake of breakfast if I've been forced to pay for it, but I'd rather look for someplace to eat outside the hotel. The twin beds were quite small, but once I pushed them together, I was able to roll over without falling on the floor. The best price I found for April 2008 was on HRS at E93.
