Living in a castle!
by sierralyndon about Parador de Carmona
This parador is situated at the top of a hill behind huge arches. It has a gorgeous Moorish-style patio, in the height of the afternoon sun, they pull shades over the patio, so everything goes a strange shade of glowing orange. Pretty awesome. They had very interesting decorations as well including swords on the walls. It was the residence of King Pedro the first. It is a bit of a walk to the centre of Carmona.
We used Carmona as a base for our 3 days in Seville. HUGE swimming pool!!

Has anyone gone on a daytrip to Carmona from Seville? If yes, was it worth it?

My husband and I stayed in Carmona for a few days as a base to get to Seville. The parador we stayed at was fantastic, and there was an ancient Roman necropolis (burial site) just outside the town. There were a few interesting historical buildings, but generally it was a pretty normal typical town with white-washed buildings. Personally, I would say that if you don't have lots of time to spare you might want to just stay and enjoy the abundance of things to do in Seville. Check out my Andalucia pages for more info.
