Beyond the beach

There is more to Torre del Mar than the beach. I found it interesting enough just wandering around town or along the coast.

Many of the local restaurants get their fish from the coastal area around Torre del Mar.

It was perfectly safe to walk around the town, even late at night. Some of the locals advised me to be careful after dark but I never encountered any problems.

We didn't want to leave

We stayed in Torre del Mar about 1 1/2 and when we were ready to leave to go to Nerja a friend of us called us to tell us that he was leaving so we had to go back to Malaga, to the airport.This means that we never saw Nerja.

La Axarquía

The town of Torre del Mar belongs to the municipality of Velez-Malaga, at the province of Malaga, but it is important by itself. It draw thousand of tourists during the summer and even year round. An important German community live here.
It's located at the Axarquia county, placed at the East of the Province of Malaga, at 35 km from the City of Malaga which has an important international airport.

La localidad de Torre del Mar pertenece al municipio de Vélez-Málaga en la provincia de Málaga, pero tiene importancia por sí misma. Atrae a miles de turistas en el verano, e incluso durante todo el año. Una importante comunidad alemana vive aquí.
Está emplazada en la comarca de La Axarquía, al este de la provincia de Málaga, a 35 kilómetros de la capital provincial (Málaga), la cual tiene un importante aeropuerto internacional.

You can enjoy lively beach atmosphere year round at this spot of the Mediterranean Sea.
