Hans and I absolutely loved this place. The hotel staff were friendly, always smiling and very helpful when we needed some information. The hotel was always buzzing with activity as there was so much to do there. The service was impeccable. The complex consisted of 170 apartments, where we were and the main hotel. There was 2 outdoor swimming pools and an indoor heated pool, 2 coffee shops, disco, T.V. room, card room ,tennis court and entertainment lounge where there was nightly entertainment.
Our cozy little apartment consisted of a balcony overlooking one of the two outdoor swimming pools, kitchenette , refrigerator, 2 electric burners , microwave and all the utensils needed to make your own meals. It had a double bed and the closets had plenty of space to put your things. Also there was a small eating and sitting area with T.V. Leave a Comment

As our usual Sol Principito Apartments were not available as they were being renovated, I looked for apartments that were in the same vicinity and remembered APARTAMENTOS BAJONDILLO was not too far away and on the Paseo. We booked using Booking.com which is an excellent website by the way. We paid 39 Euros per night and paid by Visa when we arrived there. I didn't know what to expect as I was quite happy at the other apartment. We had a one bedroom apartment there and at Bajondillo, we had a studio which was smaller, but has everything you need really. I think the best part is that all the apartments have a terrace and enjoy sea views. It was so nice to wake up to sunsets and hear the sound of the waves of the sea. The Apartment is located right on the beachfront, close to shops, restaurants. Another thing I loved about the place is that people have been coming back for years and years. In the evening people congregated in the Lobby Lounge and socialized. We met some very wonderful folks from all over the place. One large group of Americans was with the Grand Circle Club. They were so much fun.
Amenities include kitchenette with refrigerator, two burner stove and all utensils ( pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, etc), complete bathroom with a wonderful shower, central heating (individual air conditioning for the summer ), satellite TV with international channels ( English - only CN and Sky News), direct telephone, safety deposit box ( 10 Euros per week), daily cleaning except Sundays, daily change of towels and twice weekly change of bed linen. Entertainment and activities are available daily. Once a week they have a Flamenco Show ( Saturdays), Movie night, Bingo night, lawn games, exercises, extensive Library (English, French, Nederland and Germany). Large swimming pool and lounges with comfy cushions. February 5, 6 & 7, 1996 As Hans and I were vacationing in Portugal, we wanted to visit the Costa del Sol for a few days. We decided upon Torremolinos, as Hans remembered it as being a wonderful beach town. We looked around for accommodations and decided upon the HOTEL PALOMAS which was situated 200 metres from the beach in the lovely part of Carhuela.
The Palomas complex, which consist of the hotel and apartments, is located 10 minutes from the centre of Torremolinos. The Hotel has 303 rooms with full bathroom, and the majority of them have a terrace. The 46 apartments also have a lounge, refrigerator and kitchenette. The complex has 2 adult swimming pools , one of which has a section for children and the other one is heated. Lounge, TV and games room, conference room and Sauna. This Hotel was a great Hotel ,we stayed in the appartments in the back where there was a great Pool ,we looked at the Pool from our Balcony . The service was great it was clean and well kept up .we stayed here for 3 weeks and it was well worth it .We had a great time .
It was not ocean view from our appartment but a nice view of the Pool ,and I seen a huge interest at this Hotel in afternoon games ,there was a game played by older people rolling a ball down a sandy area and I forget the name of this game but it looked like fun. Dayly stretch exercises were held each morning . This Hotel has a nice area where kids can play . So yes I would recomment this Hotel to anyone for a stay here ,the area is quite nice and not too crowded. Upon entering the hotel, your eyes and ears becomes alive. The sound of water cascading down a water fountain, mirrors all along the lobby walls, plush chairs in the sitting area and chanderliers hanging overhead. We stayed 10 days here and because it was our honeymoon, when we entered our modern styled room, a bottle of champagne and warm wishes were waiting for us. For the most part, the staff was welcoming with the exception of two people. But that didn't bother us, everyone made up for the lack of the two.
The hotel is located just across the street from the beach allowing us to have a fantastic view of the beach and La Carihuela all from our balcony. It was amazing. Our room was very nice, modern, clean, with a queen size bed and cable t.v. with shows in various languages. The hotel had spa services, a pool, dining area, a restaurant and bar. The staff was very good at keeping staff abreast of all activities and tours available. And breakfast was included that's if you are able to get up in the morning. This hotel is very good for those who want some R&R, but also would like to have a good time as there are so much to do just outside your door and up the cliff into town. I went there very suspicious, because the hotel seemed too big and too cheap, announcing problems with service. No reason for that. We had a perfect stay with the advantage for the men and children that the commercial area is a little bit distant. Of course, if you are looking for the Spanish "movida" then you better stay everywhere else, where movement and noise are the rule. But if you want to rest, ans especially with kids, that's a good place. Another VTer asked me some additional information, calling my attention for the fact that the hotel is now sold under "all-inclusive" base. So, you better forget the prices I payed. Leave a Comment

This is the preferred choice of our tour purveyor (GCT). The accomodations are studio apartments with a mini-kitchen and a balcony view of the pool, the private beach, and sea across the road and promenade. Under most conditions a large buffet breakfast is included. The bar makes fine Sangrias (they used to be included nightly). The space and facilities are fine. If you are there as a senior tripper there are plenty of your ilk to cheerily chat with. You can do better and pay more. It would be a bother to go elsewhere and pay less. Extra weeks are available beyond the 2 we stayed. There were other groups and individuals there. Even though it was March the Northern Europeans were sunbathing and even swimming in the unheated pool.
Convenient. The tour company was very attentive to old folks and especially to those who developed difficulties, minor or major.
