The Rain in Spain..............
I went to Torremolinos for a day in April and we walked down these small streets, with shops all over the place, that descended down to the beach. Does anyone know the name of this place? There was a place we stopped at called "Bar Antonio," if that helps identify the location. I want to write a little page about it but I don't remember the name of the street/area.

Hi there,
We were also there in April and I am sure that the street name you require is "San Miguel".
This was the street that had a winding stairway with shops all the way down and at the bottom there are a few bars before you pass through more shops and then on to the beach.

Can't forget to include some details of our local 'Airtours' representative can I? Darren Andrews, from North Wales, is the Airtours Representative for the Costa Del Sol (or one of them). He is on hand at some time during the day, and we found him most helpful, and polite. I even explained about Virtual Tourist, and how I was going to plaster his smiling face all over my pages, haha. And, what's more, he hopes to find time to take out membership too!

You can experience the real Spain in the beautiful white village of FRIGILIANA. Narrow cobblestone streets lined by whitewashed houses, their wrought iron balconies filled with planters of brilliant red geraniums. Frigiliana has just recently been discovered by tourists and I have noticed that quite a few tour companies are now including a visit here with a stop in Nerja.
Situated in the foothills of the Sierra de Enmedio, Frigiliana is such a picturesque village to visit.
A short walk from Bajondillo, was a lovely local restaurant called LOS GALLEGOS CAFETERIA HELADERIA. We ate here three times during our three week stay. They had a very good "Menu for 8 Euros".
First Plate: Chicken - Tomato - vegetable Soup ( Chicken soup was delicious )

Plaza de la Unión Europea is one of the beautiful squares off Calle San Miguel. There is an outstanding sculpture on the square called "The Monument to Europe". It is of the Greek God Zeus taking on the form of a white majestic bull to approach the beautiful princess EUROPA.
When Zeus met Europa, he fell hopelessly in love with her. Fearing rejection he turned himself into a white bull. Europa, not fearing the bull, sat on his back. The bull took her down to the sea and crossed over to Crete with Europa on his back. There Zeus revealed his secret and they consummated their love.
The Monument to Europe is made out of 16.000 kilos of white marble and is truly a majestic sculpture.
On the square there are a lot of benches made out of light-blue tiles and with the flags of different countries in the EU engraved (by tiles) into the benches. Quite lovely.
And in the centre of the square there is a roundabout with the flags of all the member states of the EU, plus the flag of the EU itself. This is truly a EU square and ment to be a tribute to all of the tourists from Europe visiting Torremolinos (plus the ones who have retired there).
You will find quite a bit of nightlife on this road such as the Discoteca Palladium, Fun Beach Disco, Passion Disco, and HOllie Fitzsimmons Irish Party Bar. You will also find Beth Minzi, a Jewish Synagogue and San Miguel shopping centre.
