Lockers at the train station were off-service some years ago due to terrorist threats. Don't know if the new station has these, maybe others can confirm (I've not traveled to Zaragoza by train the last years, only by car).

What are your interests? This will help about "must-sees". My personal favorites are, in no particular order: the cathedral of La Seo (not El Pilar, that is more known), the Muslim palace of La Aljaferia and the museum of the sculptor Gargallo. And just wandering around the old town and having a good "bocata de calamares' :-)

The most breathtaking thing in Zaragoza is the Pilar - an enormous Basilica right on the central sqaure dedicated to a vision of the Virgin Mary supposedly seen at this site by St James. If you can, pay a littel extra and go into the tiny museum room off the main building. The artefacts you will see there will take your breath away.

Its also worth looking at the Roman Ruins and the Seo Cathedral. The other most famous site there is the Alaferia (I think that's its name) which is the seat of the Aragon legislature. Its a completely preserved Muslim castle and is breathtaking.

The best bar in Zaragoza is the Bacharach. Enjoy enjoy! This is a very underrated city, even by the people who live there. I loved it. :-)

Travel Tips for Zaragoza

Moscow-Zaragoza

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

Zaragoza is located on a low hill at the river Ebro. The historical city centre is on right southern coast of the river. There is one of the most esteemed temples of Spain in Zaragoza. It is devoted to Maiden Maria Pilar, the sacred patroness of the country.

It is considered, that Romans founded colony Cesar August on a place of Celtic settlement Sadduba in the I-st century B.C. Moors grasped Zaragoza in 710 and it became the capital of the small frontier Arabian state.
In olden time the city was surrounded by walls from a white marble and it was named "a white city". Red and pink colors of the brick widely used in moorish architecture here dominate here now.
