Once a year Avilés goes crazy! It´s carnival is known all over Spain.
The carnival processions take place during the evening and the people on the floats spray foam over everybody and the city so you can have a foam party! In addition to that, residents poor water over the people on the streets, so be sure NOT to wear your fancy dress at that time, but bring clothes to change, since you will be soaking wet and full of foam...
That´s the sad end of the parade... The foam is almost gone!
Now it comes to Fiesta on the streets all night long. Practically all people are dressed up, many of them very creatively!
On the Plaza Espana different band were playing until 4 o´clock in the morning.
