hi guys,
yes it'd that time of the year again! My family and I are off to Spain in August, yippee! Just wondered if anyone could recommend a suitable hotel for 1 night only in or around Gijon, as we have 1 night to kill before our villa is available and Gijon seems to be the perfect midway point. Would like to know if any hotels offer family rooms/adjoining room as boys will be 12 and 15 and getting too large to sleep in makedo camp beds. Not sure if hotels would allow them a room on their own either. We're not fussed about too many 'facilities' or stars as long as the hotel is comfortable and friendly.
All suggestions greatly received!

There are quite a few hotels.
However you have not said whether you want to be in the city, cost etc.
I assume you have a car. There is no reason why the boys cannot have a room of their own.

You won´t have any problem in having two rooms. Book time with the hotel because there are many people in Gijon in August. Especially at the from 8 to 15 it is impossible to find a hotel!
If you need to know something about any hotel in particular ,ask, because of my job, I know all hotels of Gijon

The Old Town is near the City Hall Square, and it has several parts:
-City Hall Square
-Marqués´s Square, where you can see KIng Pelayo Statue and Revillagigedo Palace. It´s a very nice place where you can relax, drinking some cider (or any other drink) during the day (or night) and dancing in the night clubs.
-Cimadevilla, with pubs too, nice houses and typical restaurants.
Another place not to be missed in your trip to Asturias,is the city of RIBADESELLA.Is a very touristic resort ideal to do waters sports and canoing in the Sella river!!.Also has a very interesting Cove of palheolitic art.(TITO BUSTILLO)
