Travel Tips for Gijón

Climbing up Santa Catalina´s mountain

by Jansa

If you go straight on from Cimadevilla´s streets, you´ll reach the top of Santa Catalina´s mountain, where you can see beautiful Gijón´s views and the whole sea in front of you. It´s really worthy.
There, you can see also the important monument called "Elogio al Horizonte" (something like "Praise to the Horizon"), or "La Taza de King Kong" ("King Kong´s WC") for the people, because of its form and size. At the beginning, when it was installed there, people didn´t like it, but now is one of the most important symbols in the city. Its author is Eduardo Chillida.

Asturias patria querida,

Puxa Asturies!! Puxa XIXÓN!!!
