MUSEO DE LA GAITA (Bagpipe Museum.)
Many people don't realize that northern Spain's original inhabitants were Celts. Asturies still has traditions that are distinctly celtic- ie, the main instrument in Asturien folk music is the Asturien bagpipe (gaita-- pronounced gah-EE-tah). This museum is dedicated to bagpipes of all kinds. I've never been there, but my friend who lives in Xixon sent me the brochure and told me it is worth seeing when you visit if you have interest in folk music or bagpipes. Admission is free. Hours: Sundays and holidays 11:00 to 14:00; Mondays Closed; Tuesday thru Saturday open 10:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 except in July and August. In July and August hours on Tuesday through Saturday are 11:00 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 21:00.
