Lovely Hotel
by A TripAdvisor Member
I visited the Condesa de la Bahia in June 2004. The staff done everything to meet my standards. The rooms are lovely and not to small. Food was exceedingly good. There was a wide range of food and different activities for all ages. Taking a step out of the hotel leads you straight out on to the glistening yellow sands and crystal clear seas. I would recommend it to anyone

Just returned from 2 great weeks in Alcudia. Hotel Condesa de la Bahia is a wonderful hotel although the food doesnt live up to much, we only ate our evening meal here once!!! We did find some great restaurants close by though. Saying that the hotels good for breakfast, if you are hungry you can enjoy a big fry up, if not there is plenty of toast, cereal and fruit available.
What a perfect location, just passed the pool you will find 4 steps which lead you directly onto lovely white sand, the sea is amazing to you can walk out for miles before it gets deep so its great if you have small kids to look after.
If you are looking for some things to do whilst here then the Adult Pirates adventure is a must, what an amazing night, for 60euros you get an amazing show, a lovely meal and as much sangria and white wine you can drink. Just go and see the Thompson reps who will sort this out for you. If you are with a family with children there is a family pirates adventure to which people said was also amazing.
Overall this was a wonderful holiday and we are gutted to be back.

I came back from Majorca yesterday. I have been to this hotel twice now. It is very good, staff are all friendly, beach could not be closer. Internet access available 1 euro=10mins. Rooms air conditioned. We went half board and paid for a fridge and safety box (worked out arond £30 for the week) Phone box and supermarket round the corner. Alcudia market a bus ride away (go early the bus gets packed). Be prepared to knock prices down in the market (haggle) lots of fun. I went with my parents and sister. I'm 19 she is 17. We went on a Thomson day trip to Aqua City, fairly long drive (hour) but air conditioned coach and sites and towns pointed out along the way. Aqua City was good.
great time had by all

Holiday 10th-17th June. This was the second time I have been to Majorca but not for 13 years. The first time for the wife and son so expectations were reserved. Leaving some particulary nice weather behind in England the flight from Teesside went without a hitch. Thomson reps clearly escorted the way to the coaches and the trip to the hotel soon passed. On arrival there seemed to be a lack of staff at reception to book us in but a little patience soon had us sorted out and up to our very clean and cool room. The air conditioning (although not 24hrs) worked at the right times and made the hot nights comfortable to sleep. The swimming pool was nicely set out with sun loungers and the location.... right on the beach, literaly 6 steps. The staff where all polite and most spoke good English. Plenty of good food available morning and night encouraged us to stay at the hotel most days along with the entertainment catering for both kids and adults. The kids clubs run by Thomson were well organised and made even nervous parents feel safe leaving their children with them. Apart from a few cloudy days we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back again. The only down fall I'd say would be that there are no rooms sleeping 4 or more
loved it

Great food Great atmosphere. Manged to explore more and enjoyed great trips including Pirates and Son Amar. GReat Thomson reps too in Stuart, Laura & John.
standards have gone down

I was very dissappointed, lovely looking hotel, staff very pleasant. 3 star has gone down a lot since the last time I went away (1 year ago). By the pool you don't get a mattress on your sun bed that is if you are lucky enough to get a bed. you have to hire a hairdryer if you want one. better than that you have to hire the remote control for the television. we only went in to eat a couple of times as the food was yuk. the evening entertainment was painful, what happened to hotels getting acts in?. and lastly before I put the holiday down to a total let down just to share with you that the bingo they play in the evening, they sell a lot of tickets but somehow the prize money is never alot, who's pocket does it end up in. The beach was nice skytours holiday next year thanks.
excellent

We visited this hotel August this year. I could not fault anything. Food, staff, cleanliness, entertainment everything was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to people with families. My little boy who is 8 was very very happy for the whole 2 weeks . The hotel entertainment team were brilliant with the children and the adults. We had excellent food for the whole 2 weeks. It will be very hard to beat. Thankyou to all the staff. Keep up the good work!
Reps...thank you!

The hotel was lovely, a sceond walk away from the beach, food was nice and the staff...especially the Thompson reps made our holiday a one to remember, they were very helpful, friendly and polite offering my family and i advice on the area and possible events to take part in. One thing you must do if you stay at this hotel is get to know the reps, they will take you to the sandwich bar on a wednesday night...it was certainly one of the highlights of my holiday, had a great night....of course apart from the Pirates Adventure....now theres a must!

5 Star Location .... 1 Star Entertainment

This Hotel is nice and clean. Rooms are basically furnished but a t.v and airconditioning are a plus. The food was very good (one gripe was the fact that you had to pay for a drink of water, tea or coffee with your evening meal but at breakfast these are free)
The real plus about this hotel is its location right on the beach. At the end of the pool terrace is a set of three or four steps onto a superb sandy beach with safe crystal clear sea.
The big let down for a hotel of this size was entertainment. Almost all the evening entertainment was done by reps. One a painfully embarrassing Spanish lad (Sergio) who does nothing more than shout and bellow and act the fool constantly.
We went to a bar about 500mtrs away called the Swan and found most people from our hotel frequenting it. There is a guy who entertains on his own at the Swan called Kev ... I would ask the reps at the Condessa to go watch him and see how it should be done. There are also other nice bars and restaurants close by that are far more entertaining than an evening at the Condessa.
The Thompson Reps who man the Thompson desk are very good and very helpful.
I would say 6/10 ... but if the entertainment was improved could be a 9 !!!

Hi, we are going to alcudia this coming thursday, first holiday abroad, has anybody any tips on places to visit, and does it get chilly in the evenings, also i have been checking the weather out, looks like rain for first few days, so does that usauly mean rain allday, we are only there for a week at the condesa de la bahia.

I would have thought that the rain is a short-lived thing at this time of year - perhaps the evenings would need longer sleeves or a light jumper/cardigan. I wear a t shirt or tennis shirt but my wife finds it cool after sundown sometimes.
Alcudia seems to be split into two resorts - there is the Marina end which is busy, large and extends into the "canal" area leading up to big apartment developments and a go-kart track I think - then there is the other end towards Caan Pickafort where we stayed once in a hotel called Amapola or some such.
The distance between is a fair old walk and can be dark since the paths were badly lit when we were there a few years back. Condesa de la Bahia is situated approximately 2km from the centre of the resort and hence the marina area so you are away from the centre. This is nice though and seems a lot less "tacky" than a couple of the areas nearer the centre.
You can get buses to the old town which has a few interesting streets and shops and an old town-wall to walk around and in and out of.We walked from there along the main road to Puerto Pollensa (long walk!) and got a bus back.
From your hotel, you could walk or cycle to Caan Pickafort fairly easily too - plenty of cycle hire shops around!
It is worth f=getting a bus into Palma - if you hire a car and drie there, good luck! It is VERY busy and parking wasn't easy!
You may find that a trip to the Caves of Drach appeals to you - if you can get a bus, then the entrance fee is small compared to what the holiday reps charge but they do provide transport which can be more convenient to you. We drove there with a hire car and still saved a little that way - also we were able to visit the East coast resorts of Porto Christo and Peurto Sam Miguel which were nice back then.
You are quite close to a "nature park" - When we were there, it looked like a rugged path around a swampy area of countryside which we didnt venture into but we were told it was a nice walk.
Have a great time! I love Majorca.
