The Hotel Delfin Verde is one of the best Hotels we have stayed at for a Holiday, the staff were first class, the hotel was spotless, and the food was exceptional, beautifully cooked and presented. all the staff throughout the Hotel, were very friendly and made us very welcome.

Absolutely brilliant!

by TripAdvisor Member neekie71

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel and what a fabulous week it was.
I read a lot of reviews from this site before I went and they were all pretty much saying the same as us. Alcudia is lovely and perfect for families. The beach is 5 minutes from the hotel and well worth a day out at as the water is lovely and the beach is very clean. It cost us 10 euros for the hire of 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for shade which works out at about £7.50 for the day. We only spent one day at the beach as the hotel had so much to offer. If you're game for joining in with the activities, this is definitely the place for you. Marcio (hotel entertainment rep) is an absolute superstar and will try to rope you in. Be warned, once you have taken part in one thing and he knows your name, your name will be on the list for everything! My husband and I played water polo every day which was a scream, did rifle and pistol shooting, archery, played ultimate frisbee and did a lot of the marina games which are just silly things like throwing beanbags at a target or rolling a ball through chair legs to see how far you could get it. It might sound childish but when everyone joins in and youve had a few free cocktails, its a scream. All of the hotel entertainment team (steve, chris, Marcio) were brilliant and Dina looked after the kids and did games with them. The JMC kids club was also excellent (mam, josh, scatty nat, adele) and my girls had a great time with them.
I found the food to be very good with a really wide choice of things to eat (a few strange deserts though!) but I have a very fussy husband who moaned quite a lot and spent some evenings at Burger King which is a 2 minute walk away. Mcdonalds and KFC are only about a 10 minute walk too. Abdel the waiter loves kids and will often be seen tickling them on his way past or grabbing them and running around the restaurant with them. My girls thought he was fab!
The only complaint I have was the noise. There is a disco right at the back of the hotel who have international DJ's playing there every saturday. The receptionist was telling me that it only costs about 5 euros (about £3.50) to get in so people from all over the island go there. When we stayed, the disco went on til 6 in the morning and then all the spaniards came out and were shouting and revving their car engines and blasting out music from their cars. A few other people didnt sleep that night either.
A trip to the market is a must (tuesday and sunday) and is easier to get to by cab. It costs about 5 euros each way and is otherwise about a half hour walk. There is a bus for 1 euro but its always packed and sometimes wont stop at your stop!
An evening stroll around the marina is also a must (about a 15 minute walk away) and there are a lot of bars and restaurants with live music where you can stop for a drink and watch the world go by.
The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and you see the cleaners around all day.
The thing that was most beneficial to us was the fact that our children could go off and play and we knew they were safe. The play area was really good and the pool is watched over by a lifeguard so even if you cant watch your kids every second, you know they are safe. Our two loved the freedom they got because we knew they were safe.
All in all this is a wonderful place for a family holiday and we made loads of great friends who we are hoping to meet up with there again next year.

Loved Every Minute

My husband and I kept promising ourselfs a holiday now the kids have grown up, we looked for a good last minute deal and found this hotel ...We was warmly welcomed given key to room and when we opened the door was quite shocked how clean and tidy and big the room was and a balcony to....As we settled in we booked a few excursions 1 being the pirates show in magalufe, what a great show by the end of the evening you was shouting and booing along with the children there :)The next excursion was to the market I brought a small purse it was 5 euros but split after a few days wasnt impressed, my hubby brought a gold chain and bracelet which was he barted with the stall holder later to find we had been ripped off it wasnt real gold :((..He paid 100 euros a lesson learnt i guess so please be carefull when visiting the markets....But the rest of the day went well we went to the cathedral in palma and had a loverly time , next day we went to the mountains in a coach then caught a boat then last went for a train ride which was a pleasent day also....The hotel we had no complaints the food was loverly, rooms cleaned very good the staff was very nice hard working people, as this was our 1st holiday since 1992 we are so pleased we had a good experience and choose very well ..The area was very full of british people no problem communicating ..A big thanku to all the staff might cya next year..........

Brilliant

I never fancied going to Majorca, but ,got this last minute...it was one of the best holidays we have had.As we drove from the airport dropping off people at there hotels,i thought what have we let ourselves in for...as some of them were dumps and in the wilds. Then we got to the Delfine verde, lovely place, nice surroundings,in a very nice area.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were so friendly, from the manager down to the cleaners, they always had time for a chat and a smile. On arrival it was a cheery smile from the reception staff, room keys, shorts and out for a nose about(and a hot dog..inflight meals...YUK)there are plenty of loungers for everyone placed round the pool area. The entertainment team work there backsides off to make sure there is plenty to do if you want to join in.
The one that took the adult games(join in)MARCIO (no preasure...his saying)is brilliant and has a good laugh.you dont hear kids moaning or crying which makes a good holiday on its own.Meals are great, plenty of choice and its still hot,a wide variety for snacks aswell.night time entertainment was good also the staff shows with incoming entertainers also.there are organised outings or you can get about easy enough, taxi or a good bus service...taxi,s are cheap.
Im looking to book for next year,in May and september...the temp in sept was never below 26 during the day (to hot for me at times).

Great if you've got 10 kids!!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member JueandMark

My partner and I stayed here in September of this year for 1 week. Hotel is very clean, bar staff are all really friendly, as are reception staff, maid service is exceptional, restaurant staff bend over backwards for you, beautiful location 5 mins from the beach etc etc but......if you DON'T have children I don't recommend it. JMC said it was suitable for couples and families, sorry but it isn't.......the "suitable for couples" part in the brochure must be a misprint. We found that we were leaving the hotel every night just to find somewhere that didn't have hundreds of kids running around in the bar while their mums and dads sat outside oblivious to their activities and necking as much cervesa or cocktails as possible. Apologies to the few parents who were responsible......the others....SHAME ON YOU!!!!

If you have children then go........
If not...you've been warned!!!!

great place

by A TripAdvisor Member

we took the kids there last year in july, had a brilliant time, the food was fantastic and varied, didnt hardly see the kids for the whole holidays as they were in the kids clubs which were very well run and generally on twice a day, plenty to do in the day for adults like archery, football, water polo volley ball etc, had a great time and will be going back this year

staff excellent but food terrible

by TripAdvisor Member ManchesterMichelle

we stayed at the hotel from the 9th of may 2006 the cleanliness of it was excellent, the bar staff are fantastic as are the receptionist but unfortunately the food wasnt great, the kids wouldnt touch it so we ate out most days. there was no day time activities through the day and according to the brochure season starts on the 1st of may. the day before we was due to go home there was a lot of arrivals and instantly the hotel changed, activities through the day and the food improved a little. night time entertainment wasnt great either although the staff was really nice. personaly i wouldnt return to this hotel

Great 3* Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member EssexTraveller169

I took my Grandmother and daughter here in May 2006

Weather, fantastic, only one day was naff. There is NOTHING to do in the hotel with bad weather

The entertainment is butlins like, actually, not that good!

Hotel, was clean, although rooms only beds made and clean towels daily, then bathroom was left

Food- Fantastic - breakfast - cereals, toasts - fruit - yoghurs -fry up- typical english cafe style although as buffet- i'm fussy with food

Lunches & dinners- same, plenty of choice and very english

Pool- was a let down, although it was about 75degrees outside, the pool was FREEZING all day! not heated at all

Staff- fantastic

My air con didnt' work in the room- I asked for about 3 days on the trot and was told the engineer was coming but never did

there are lifts x2 to all 5 floors of the hotel

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the Marina- about 5 mins from the beach with shops like any English seafront!

You can catch a bus to Alcudia market or other areas of Majorca

In the rooms- HAIRDRYERS - SAFE are at a cost!!!!

The TV has a remote control but you have to pay €30 deposit and you can only get BBC1 and I think even BBC2 no other english channels

Rooms are not quiet, you can here EVERYTHING in the other ones, upstairs & next door

Over all, I did enjoy the holiday and this was a typical 3*, clean, friendly, just a few bad points, like the noise and pool, other than that, good

Kids love it!
