More about Hotetur Bellevue Apartments

We stayed at the Bellevue...

by hmacaroni

We stayed at the Bellevue Holiday Village The brochure does not do the Bellevue justice. It is a massive complex with lots to do each block is like a hotel itself. It is situated on a lake and there are several 'canals' running thru the village with picturesque fountains. The complex is clean enough and has lots to do. The evening entertainment is fantastic especially the hotel's home entertainment team. However the bar prices within the resort are almost twice the price of the bars out in the resort.
The restaraunt is the biggest disappointment, the basics are fine, e.g.Pasta, salad, veg but the main courses lack imagination. You needed to go 10 rounnds to get a bit of meat from the fat/bone/tendons etc.
I would recommend Bellevue only as a self catering option. Many people I met on half board ended up eating out a lot like I did.

Poo in the pool

by A TripAdvisor Member

I stayed at The Bellevue Holiday Village a few years ago, and whenever i think back to it the thing that stands out in my mind is that there was a poo .. yes a poo in the bottom of the pool. It was there for several days. I also remember that there was lots of mozzies and i got bit by them many times. Another problem was the entertainment, it was cheap and tacky and not very entertaining! I wouldnt go there again but i must say I have stayed at worse hotels, it was clean and the reps were very friendly. one of my friends goes there every year so it may just be down to personal taste.

Possibly the most detailed review ever..

by TripAdvisor Member sarah185

My boyfriend and I visited Alcudia for 2 weeks this year 14th-28th June 2005.
Before going on holiday i read a lot of reviews for the Bellevue holiday village and like you i wish i hadn't! I was almost dreading the holiday as it got closer, extrememly fearful of how terrible it was going to be. However, things weren't as bad as they were made out to be....

I must admit the transer from Palma airport to the hotel was a pain in the bum. Quite literally, it took over 90 minutes, this was due to roadworks and the faxt that we were the last stop after about 8. We arrived at the hotel at about midnight, we were staying in Minerva II. The coach dropped us off right outside our block which saved a fair walk with heavy suitcases. We were checked in by Ernesto who was very friendly and helpful. We were on the 8th floor which is the top but was fine as there were 3 lifts.

The room is basic yes, but in my opinion it was what to be expected of 3 star accomadation. It was clean on arrival so that was something. If you've been reading reviews then i'm sure you're already aware that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. This is one of the worst things about the accomadation, it gets unbearable at night. Fans can be hired from reception but they are quite expensive so we suffered without. A trick if you're in the room during the day is to open you're balcony door and prop open your front door and allow a lovely breeze to cool down your room.

The kitchen is basic but okay. Our kettle liked to heat not only the water but the handle as well so when you picked it up it was scalding. Needless to say we didn't use that again! Never used the microwave, used the hob which worked fine. Fridge freezer worked fine but needed turning up to make it colder. Be aware that if you're travelling with Airtours as we were then you get kettle, toaster and microwave for free. With other operators you rent them.

There are frequent visits from the maids but the times they arrived were unpredictable. One day they would arrive at 9am and the next 3pm so we missed out on some days as we were still sleeping. When we did have maid service it was adaquete. However, on one occasion we put our dirty towels to be changed and she hung them back up. On another occasion our towels were replaced but one was stained. Eww.
Sheets didn't seem to be changed often enough for our liking. The maid we had spoke no English but was happy and friendly. She looked after my camera when i left it in the room after checking out.

We didn't see a single rat or cockroach. There were a lot of mosquitos at night, the hotter the day had been the more mozzies were around. Insect repellent didn't seem to work most days. Saying that i don't think you can blame the hotel for the amount of mozzies. We bought a plug in insect replellent for the room.

The rep of our transfer was a moody girl! She was quiet, seemed tired and she told us our welcome meeting was a certain time when on the welcome pack it showed a tottally different time and day! We couldnt ever find the welcome meeting. We accidently found that Airtours have a big office in Minerva I but only found it by accident, weren't informed on arrival. Reps were helpful but very young and cliquey. Didn't really seem to chat to guests.

*Swimming Pools*
Minerva II was the closest pool to us, it is here that a lot of the pool activities and sports take place and is ideal for families. We seemed able to find sunloungers whether we arrived at the pool at 11am or 2pm! We did notice though that people would reserve them very early in the morning and also leave their things at the pool for 2/3 hours whilst at lunch.
We preferred the Sirena pool which was a lot quieter and lovely and clean. However, in the 2nd week when it changed from low season to high season it got a lot more crowded and rowdy families took over. One in particular who had teens who would smoke around the pool and play catch IN the pool with empty beer cans. Disgusting. In the 2nd week the pools seemed to get dirtier and tasted funny, not of chlorine like clean pools do. Leda pool is all shallow and excellent if you have young children. Beware the poolside bars are expensive.

Spar is expensive. Go to COLBER which is a lot cheaper. Bottled water and ice creams are cheap but other things such as chocolate, pasta and baked beans are very expensive.

The best restaurant we went to was Luna's, it has the best lasagne i have ever tasted. Rivoli opposite the Bellevue entrance is very nice and the manager is very charming. If you have young children then the peach pit is ideal. 3 Courses for just over 9 euros, amazing staff (again the manager is lovely) and entertainment for the kids (bob the builder, tweeniesn characters etc visit every night.)

*Bellevue Entertainment*
The fun fair is excellent for kids but can get pricey if they want rides every night. There is a big sweet stall and a crepe stall. The showgardens drinks are quite pricey and they moan at you if you take your own drinks. Entertainent is fair and quite amusing. The entertainment team are lovely and Rasseaus is an excellent presenter type person. It is a bit Butlins-esque with bingo every night but its okay. Don't use the toilets by the funfair, they're not great.

Alcudia beach is gorgeous. You can get a boat from Bellevue for 6 euro return if i remember correctly. Can get pricey if you use it a lot but it really isnt very far if you walk. The sand is clean and the water is lovely and clear, you can walk out a long way before it gets deep. There are water sports at reasonable prices if you're interested.

*The BAD*
The men trying to sell you watches and glasses and the ladies who want to braid you're hair are pushy sometimes to the point of being abusive. Try to avoid at all costs!

Definately go see Pirates if you can. It's quite expensive but definately worth it. We went to see Adult pirates which is over 18's. Rude, loud but amazing dance and acrobats. A really fun night out.

Going back this year

by A TripAdvisor Member

Siesta 1 building......... Myself and my partner stayed in the bellevue in May 2003 and we are taking our Daughter and my brother back there with us June of this year. For the price, the Bellevue is great value for money - we went SC so we cannot comment on the food but the SC appliances they equipt you with in your room is very good, with a hob, fridge/freezer plenty of cupboards for storage space, kettle and plenty of utencils. The entertainment was great for all ages e.g you had an entertainer one night e.g Robbie Williams tribute and the next night the entertainment staff would put on a show like Grease - what me and my partner really liked about the bellevue was the choice of pools - theres 7 pools and some are more busier than others so if we wanted a bit of peace and quiet we would go to one of the quieter pools, the studio apartment was very clean, they advise you that maid service will be around twice a week but they came nearly every day when we were there. The beach is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel but you are passing a stretch of shops to get to the beach so you have alot to occupy yourself when walking there. Theres a wide variety of bars outside the holiday village which again would please all ages, you have the likes of cheers bar which is very good if you have children and the prince of wales for the older teenagers.
The only negative thing i can say about the bellevue was that there was no air conditioning in the room so we were quite warm in the room in the night times but probably not as warm as it would be if i went there in August!! , so we had to keep the balcony door open - but this wasnt a problem as most of the apartments are far from the main road so its nice and quiet in the night times.

Superb Holiday Villiage

by A TripAdvisor Member

After reading some awful reviews it was with intrepidation that I set off to Majorca to stay at the Bellevue Holiday Apartments. What a pleasant surprise I got. A superb two bedroomed apartment complete with a fully equipted balcony. There was more than enough room for the 4 adults, one child and a baby. We took a pushchair and travel cot but this was uneccesary as a cot was supplied and a pushchair could be hired, along with anything else you required. The apartments were very clean and always had plenty of hot running water. The grounds were also kept in very good order. There was never any litter laying about as there was somebody constantly picking it up. The eight pools were also very well looked after.Clean water and surrounds. There was a life guard on duty at every pool all the time they were open. The staff were helpful and courtious at all times and the entertainment team were fantastic. There was always something for either the children or adults to do if they so wanted. The evening entertainment was also very good.I have been all over the world and I was very impressed with everything the Bellevue had to offer. We went self catering and the kitchen was well equiped. They are several places on the site to eat and just outside the complex there are plenty of bars and restaurants. I shall be booking another holiday to this complex on October, breaking a personel rule never to return to the same place twice. Try it I dont think you will be disappointed.

Beautiful Beach JP'S the best was Brill excellent entertainment

by TripAdvisor Member DEBSNewport

We stayed in FEDRA 1 which is situated right at back of the complex the 2 BEDROOMED APPARTMENT was SPOTLESS we had NO COMPLAINTS the maids couldn't do enough for you if you needed FRESH TOWELS OR BEDDING they brought it well within 45 mins of asking for it. We absolutely adored the entertainers in the pub called JP'S THE BEST they were noddy(ADAM) and Jo the wonderful young girl who calls you in as you pass bye to join in the KARAOKE FUN and QUIZZES. Cocktails were gorgeous in the all the pubs we tried out.The BEACH is stunning it's about 10 -15 MINS walk from the appartments .We are going again in june 05 this time we are staying halfboard. Can't wait to go again 5 weeks time HOORAY we went with my travel airtours and are going with them this year as they were excellent.

what a great place

by A TripAdvisor Member

After reading some of the reviews before we went we hoped that we had made the right choice. We set off on hoilday on the 15th may 2005, we had a early flight with three children so i was hoping that when we arrived that this was all ok and they wasnt any thing wrong.

When we arrived at the appartments we drove on with the coach and i couldnt believe how big the complex was. The coached stopped at the reception to ask which block we was staying in and lucky for us we was at the front of the complex in the leda 3 block.

We signed in at the reception and off we went up to our room. We did ask for the lower floor and got the forth, but i do understand that loads of people must ask for this so it wasnt a great problem. When we got to our room the card key wouldnt work in the door but the maid was next door so she let us in. The kids where full of it running to see what the place was like and there bedroom and they thought it was great. the room was very clean and tidy with plenty of hanging space and shelves which was great with three children and all the clothes. The lounge area was great had plent of room which was also a good thing so the kids had room to play when we was in. Our first impressions was brill couldnt fault it at all.

After we had got sorted off we went to see the rest of the place. First we went to reception to sort the card key out and they where great again the changed the key and went up with us to make sure it worked, to save us messing. we then went to have a look round the pool and that was great too. they was a small pool and a large pool, and then what i thought was great they was another small pool in the shade for the tots, for us that was great having a 20month old, and saved us getting the paddling pool out that we took for the shade.

Every thing was so good a couldnt believe the reports that i had read before i came. People saying they was noise at night we hardly had any and so what to the noise we did have people are on hoilday and they to have a good tim. To be honest the noise that we did hear would only be the people laughing and just enjoying there hoilday and that is what you go on hoilday for really the fun. some times you heard babies crying at night but they are babies and having one my self then again so what you cant always just shut a baby up can you. one night people where in the pool but only for a short time it was after the liverpool match when they won and they where only teenages and the water must have been freezing they wasnt in there long.

On site they was allsorts to do crazy golf, hire the bikes, mini fair, playgrounds, the boat to the beach. Shops bars resterants. Entertainment at night for the kids a mini disco we did go to this but only went twice because it was out side and a little chilly at night in may, but when we did go the kids did enjoy it it so well done to the staff. In the day the tribe group go round doing things for the kids and us big ones if you want it ranging from games to pony riding for the kids and shooting and horse riding for the big kids (us). The entertainment staff work very hard day and night and they are all great so well done to them.

We travelled with Thomas cook/Sunset and they were fantastic for us they did a club for the kids which our two kids 4 and 7 went to and really really enjoyed it and wanted to go all the time. It cost five euros a sessions but was well worth it for the kids and the adults because get some time to your selfs to relax. Gemma the kids rep was lovely and put every thing in to her work. Tom the rep for thomas cook was also very good helpful and always around if we needed him a huge thank you to him.

The maids came round every day to our room never missed a day in the 14 days we where there cleaned the room emptyed the bins and changed the towels if we wanted them to. The beds where changed twice a week during the stay too. One report said you never got any toilet roll, you did we always had three rolls at a time. The maids worked hard and where always nice when you saw them

All in all the hoilday and the bellevue complex was very very good and couldnt fault it in any way at all a very enjoyable hoilday for all of the family. We got talking to people while we where there who had gone back year after year and never had a complaint and im pleased to say that we will be doing the same.

Go on try it you will for sure enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS if you have kids then go to cheers bar its great for the kids, do a kids disco and games, the food there is nice too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, we have just returned from two lovely weeks, what a fantastic holiday my husband myself and our six year old daughter had. The accommodation is lovely and clean, we stayed on the top floor of Neptune 11 studio apartment block over looking the lake. The pictures I have posted are from our balcony
The only faults I could find are that if you went while the schools are on holiday it got a bit noisy for younger children. When the schools kids went back home it was fantastic! The shows were out of this world, The children's entertainment was second to none, especially the Portuguese Tom Jones look alike Brilliant, lovely lad. I would go again no probl
