Sunwing Resort & Spa, Nuevas Palmeras: Great rooms but too large and noisy for me !

There were children in bathing clothes with balls and swimming belts all over the place, no quiet areas to relax.

Unique Quality: The room was nice and clean, and the cleaning staff did a great job.
There were no defects as such.

belview: mosquito paradise

stay here was a complete nightmare.
we got eaten alive with mosquito's i mean really badly, requiring injections while we were there and follow up appointments to the hospital back home because of the bad reaction i took by getting bitten by so many.
Dr actually counted over 110 bites.
Everyone on the complex seemed to be complaining about said pests, seems because there are a lot of pools of stagnent water coming off of the mountains and the little blighters loved to breed around them

Unique Quality: beaches were fab but getting so badly bitten made the stay a nightmare and spent 9of our 14days in agony
would advice anyone going to take as much repellant as possible but that always doesnt work as i found out to my cost.
such a shame really as was a lovely place

Albergue Victoria - youth hostel: Place considering your budget...

There are two "albergues in Mallorca", one is in El Arenal and the other one in Alcudia. There differ a bit, mainly in location. The one in El Arenal is in a very touristy destination and the hostel in Alcudia is...in the mountains,but on the other hand,just 100m from the sea...and it's just....amazing. I can't even describe how excited I felt when I was arriving there by bus from Palma,via Inca. I had spent 4 weeks in the South before,among a bunch of tourists. When I saw the landscape,all the beautiful mountains, "untouched" coutntryside with wild pine trees, smelled the flowers in the air...wow,that was just gorgeous.It was a paradise for me.
The bus stop is in the centre of Alcudia,which is a cute town. To get to the albergue, it's best to take a cab as it is far to carry luggage.This albergue is larger than the one in the South, food is the same (breakfast = bread,margarine,marmelade,corn flakes)as in the South.As the albergue is really in the mountains and quite remote,it's better to do shopping for 2 days or so.But you can always go hitchhiking to get to the town to do shopping.on th other hand,it's a nice walk...(whithout heavy bags,of course:-). Rooms are clean, wardrobes are not in the rooms but in the small corridor. Also the bathroom is not for one room only,but it's "used" by two rooms. It's easy to travel from this area to get to other parts of Mallorca, e.g. Pollenca (amazing!), Deia and other spots. This albergue is not very good for people looking for an exciting night life but it's a fascinating place for relaxation...you can take a dip in many small lagoons, the Cap de Formentor (the most northern part of mallorca island) is just opposite....I told you,it's a paradise.

Unique Quality: There's no pool, but the sea is really close and so clean. Views are unbelievable,you can see the mountains, full of colours, trees, the sea, the Cap de Formentor...it's so nice. And tranquil. I think I'd establish a temple there to provide meditations...:-)

Garden Lago Resort

Garden Lago is a timeshare resort situated on Lake Menor (or Estany Petit), just along from the Lagomonte Hotel. The resort won RCI’s Gold Crown title 5 years in the row (1995 – 1999).

We had a big apartment with two bedrooms, spacious terrace, one bath, all kitchen needs. This resort is family friendly. After midnight no loud noise is allowed (but you can hear it from the neighbor resorts).

The only problem you may encounter here are mosquitoes – they are plentiful –don’t forget your repellent.

Excellent Caprabo supermarket (next to the resort) has fantastic selection of seafood, meats, ice cream and wine; fruits and vegetable choice could be better.

Unique Quality: Here is a typical holiday week:

Sunday 10:30 - Welcome party; 12:00 - Walking tour to the Hidden Church in the cave of St. Martin; 14:30 Monster Club for kids; 15:00 - Archery lessons; 16:00 – Ping – pong; 20:00 – Professional show.

Monday: 9:30 Excursion to Alcudia, Pt. Pollenca and Cala San Vicente; 11:00 Monster Club for kids; 15:00 - Archery; 21:00 Turbo course Spanish

Tuesday: 8:45 Island Tour (Coach to Palma, nostalgic train to Soiler, boat to Sa Calobra); 10:30 Walking tour to the market in Alcudia town; 11:00 Monster Club for kids; 15:00 - Archery; 20:30 Mini-disco; 21:00 Turbo course Spanish.

Wednesday: 8:45 Island Tour (The famous Dragon Caves and Manacor Pearl Factory); 11:00 Monster Club for kids; 15:00 - Archery; 16:00 – Horse riding; 19:00 BBQ party; 21:30 Men VS Women

Thursday: Inca Market Tour or Palma and Marineland Tour; 11:00 Monster Club for kids; 15:00 - Archery; 20:30 Mini-disco; 21:00 Turbo course Spanish.

Friday: 8:45 Island Tour or Aquacity (waterpark); 11:00 – Horse riding; 20:30 Mini-disco

Fonda Llabres, Alcudia Town: Fonda Llabres, Alcudia Town

Unique Quality: Great location, well away from the main resort of Puerto de Alcudia, but within walking distance (25 mins)if you want to spend the day at the beach (or there are buses). Own bar/restaurant frequented by locals and tourists alike.
