Superb Sol Magalluf Park
by A TripAdvisor Member
VIsited the Sol Magalluf for the 2nd time last June, was still as good as the 1st time. Very central, close to beach, bars and shops. Food was really good, wide selection of food to suit all tastes. Rooms were cleaned every day. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Hotel in Mallorca Island
by ncfg about Samos Hotel
When i went to Mallorca Island I’d stayed in Magalluf at the Samos Hotel.
There is a swimming pool, a saloon and a coffee bar and each bedroom has a bathroom, TV and phone.
It is located nearby the BCM discotheque and in an area of cafes/bars and the beach is very near from there.

Visit Planet Rock at Magalluf, Mallorca.
This is a great bar with great music (and drinks). Come as you are.
You absolutely must keep in...

You absolutely must keep in mind that Spain is a large piece of land with a long rich History and unique location. From the Atlantic north to the Morish sourth, from the Mediterranean to the Portuguese border you will find very different sceneries, peoples, architectures, gastronomies, languages, musics and customs. Some people say 'I have been to Spain and didn´t like it' when all they have seen is Magalluf... which is more Blackpool than Spain anyway. There is a whole country there for you to explore and I am sure every single person will find a particular spot where they feel at home, or in heaven!
Mallorca Island
by ncfg
The Balearic Islands' archipelago is situated south-east of Europe, in the central part of the western Mediterranean basin. Palma, the capital of the Balearics, is in Majorca(Mallorca), the largest of the Balearic islands.
The first time i visited Mallorca was in 1997 and i stayed at the Samos Hotel in Magalluf, a real tourist place.
In 2000 I returned to Mallorca to enjoy the other part of the island.
Besides the great beaches, you can find historic monuments and amazing hidden places. In Palma city, the capital of Mallorca, you can find an amazing Gothic Cathedral from the XIII century and lovely gardens.

the sol magalluf park was fantastic. All staff were friendly & helpful. The entertaintment team were very good, keeping everyone happy with plenty to do. The hotel was very clean. Rooms cleaned every day with clean linen & towels. Highly recommended for families. Did not want to come home. Cant wait untill next time.
A great location for the 18-30 age group.

If you like to go clubbing BCM, the largest Club on the Island is within site of the hotel.
If you are in the 18-30 age group this is a great location and is just around the corner from the main strip.
We went in July as a family of 3 and did not expect a quiet holiday, however the hotel attracts large groups of lads who cannot hold their drink and can be abusive to other guests. There was trouble at the poolside bar area one evening around 5.00 p.m. and the lads could be seen smashing a football at other guests using the pool. The use of the F*** word was regularly heard round the pool area and again became louder as the day progressed. This went without reprimand from hotel staff.
The rooms were a bit small for 3 guests and although cleaned each day there was a problem with bugs in the rooms with many guests complaining of being bitten in bed. The room TV remote control had no batteries but received BBC1, ITV1, BBC World and Sky News. The room also did not have air conditioning and it could be quite hot during the night. Together with the 18-30 year olds returning from the Clubs in the early hours do not expect a quiet nights sleep.
There is some building work next to the hotel but this did not cause any disturbance.
The food was OK but the catering was like a canteen and on some evenings the queues could be long.
I would not go to The Magalluf Park at this time of year again as there are to many louts who try to be louder than each other.
Fantastic time
by A TripAdvisor Member
We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The entertainment staff are brilliant and always keep you entertained. The staff are all friendly and the food is good although you do tend to get a bit fed up after 14 days. All in all the entertainment staff where the best and made our holiday great!
i dint wana come home
by A TripAdvisor Member
Well Well Well, the sol magaluff park hotel was the best one i have ever stayed in! it was just me and my friend but there service was really good. Food was lovely (you must try there gravy) entertainment was ok its good for young children, because we went out in the town everynight and it was wicked, you have to be 16 to drink so there are quite a few young ones there but i cannot wait to go back next year. If you like clubbing go to BCM we met tim westwood there, hes there all summer and the club is fantastic very friendly people we dint see no fights the hole holiday. Hotel pool was nice but a bit over crowed so make sure you get up early and grab your sun bed at 9am or you wont get one all day. Beach is nice we went there mostly. If you like chinize food then theres a restaurant across the road from the hotel and its really nice and cheap. Hotel phone was really cheap to call home from your room. wear plently of sun cream i got burnt on my first day! PRs will start to do your head in when you go out but just run away from them, thats what we did. But overall a great holiday in Magaluff and were staying in the same hotel next year too, have a wicked time!!!!!!

Re: Mallorca

Since you are from Belgium i think yr local tourist operatour has loads of trips on offer to mallorca.
Or have a look at the latest last minutes on the internet.
You only have to think about wher you want to go, Palma and el Arenal are cheap but crowded with tourists and other assorted party people.

has anyone ever stayed at hotel iris ,el arenal majorca ,or know if its ok as my polish friends want to take me there for a couple of weeks holiday thanks.
Re: majorca!

I think hotel Iris is ok, when I went to Majorca (1997 and 2000) I stayed in Magalluf at Samos Hotel. Arenal is nearby Magalluf. It is a great zone.

El Arenal is a great area for me. It is the German area. Beach bar #8 is a party all day long. There is the Chicken Strasse that has beer halls and it an almost carnival atmosphere.
Now don't think I dont like the Castalan atmosphere, I do.
It is just that I like the way the Germans partry more so than the Brits down by Beach 1 and 2.

Is Mallorca really happening?
by Tahirpk
hello, I will be visiting Mallorca in may and i have a few questions?
1. Since there seems to be an absence of public transport how does one get around to the beaches etc.?
2. Is it very touristy and little of cultural interest?
3. My main interest is to laze by the pool and take walks but should i happen to be awake one night, is there somewhere one can go for a bit of dancing?
Thanks

Mallorca doesn't have a bad bus service. You'd better rent a scooter or a car though. It depends where you are going.
On this island I have seen some beautiful places such as Valldemossa, Fornalutxand Palma itself.
You will surely find something "cultural"; see, museums, churches and so on.
I can't suggest no discos, because I usually am very tired in the evening. I walk very much.
Have a nice stay in Mallorca!
Re: Re: Is Mallorca really happening?
by Mique
It depends on where you are staying. But places like Magalluf, El Arenal are places with a very busy though touristy nightlife. One of the biggest disco's on the island is BCM in Magaluff. Santa Ponsa, Puerto de Alcudia and Puerto de Pollensa have quite a few bars and nightlife places as well. Actually, i think almost any place in Mallorca has at least a bar or 2 so now worries .... For a more mallorcan nightlife you have to head up to Palma. The boulevard (Tito's for example) and around Gomilla.
Public transport is quite good. A failry good bus service will take you around the island. And there are trains to Inca and Soller.
As far as i know there are a few hike-trails. But i haven't done any of these.
For cultural things there is also quite a broad selection. From Palma with its cathedral and museums to Valdemossa, Arta and much more.
