Value for money Binimar

My wife and I (late middle age!)had an excellent two weeks here. Made a late booking but were still able to choose an upper floor apartment which was clean and of reasonable size. Entertainment for all ages was good and children in particular were well catered for. The full buffet breakfast with a very wide choice at only 4 euros was superb value. Plenty of sun beds around the three pools although this did not deter the usual "towel brigade". Apartments are well located for the shops and eating places and there is a good choice of both.
We would happily recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a good value holiday.
highly recomend the binimar apartments

just arrived back from the binimar apartments in minorca, was a bit worried about staying there after some of the reviews i read. Have to say we have been to minorca 6yrs on the run and overall the binimar has to be the best holiday complex so far. The apartments were very clean the maids came 5 days a week with clean towels and bedding. There were 3 pools all had a life guard on duty most of the day. The pools were spotlessly clean. We stayed half board there was lots of choice and the food was excellent. The evening entertainment was brill a great act every night. Lots for families with young children to do, not much for the older children to keep themselves amused in the evening. The great thing was that the entertainment finished by 12am so everything was quiet by 12.30am. The town is only 5mins walk away with lots of shops and resturants to eat at, especially Sa Caldreta the food here is 1st class. Its the one that the waiters wear pink shirts. We hired a car from miramar car hire next to the chinese, this was the cheapest, it was 148euros for 4 days. We visited Cala galdana beach 3 days on the run its the best beach on the island, brill to snorkel. Cala forcat beach is a good beach only small but again great to snorkel. The aqua park is great at cala forcat 15euros for adults 9.50 for kids under11. Lots of fun slides for all ages. best holiday ever.

Me my husband and 2 kids went to the Binimar last August. What a fantastic place to stay. Cala n Forcat is a friendly and lively place to holiday. We had a fantastic apartment, around the middle pool, ground floor, right next to the stage! didn't have to go far to enjoy the entertainment. Stayed half board and the food was excellent, lots to choose from and when you have picky children a god send. One of the down falls of the holiday was no air-conditioning and on hot evenings this was a bit uncomfortable. Will go back again.

It's like this, Usually we go to Gran Canaria, I was walking past the Travel agents and asked for a holiday next week for me & three kids in Playa. Menorca said the agent. Nope your not listening Gran Canaria. Menorca is all I have available, Hotel Binimar take a look. A week with Sun is plenty of Fun, so off we went on our jollies (Left Mum at home. LOL don't ask!)
What a suprise, the place was really well geared for family fun. The youngsters who run all the entertainment from 8am - till Midnight were an absolute credit. My kids rang their Mum and told them it was the best Hol they'd ever had ( been to Disney Florida 2wice at that)
Has it happened we went back last week in October,( This time with Mum) was still OK but was winding down for the end of the season. Happy to say we have 2 weeks booked for this August. (All of us) If you have little Tots, Mini Disco is Something else!!!!! :-)
Any friendly families going this year feel free to contact us!
FANTASTIC - Great for a single mum with 2 kids

We have been twice to the Apartments and found them to be very clean and well looked after. The only thing that I would like to add it would be more bearable in the rooms in the evening if they had air conditioning in the rooms rather than just a fan which really just circulates warm air. We are going next year for 2 weeks in July. Cant wait.
Wonderful for families, not so great for couples

Me and my boyfriend booked this holiday from the internet, so didn't realise just how family orientated it would be.
The apartments themselves were absolutely gorgeous. Every apartment was painted blue, yellow or terracotta, and felt just like walking through a fairytale. The resort was huge and we got lost when we first arrived, but once you've walked around a couple of times, it becomes very familiar.
The rooms were spotless, and were cleaned every day by very friendly chambermaids, and the pools, bars etc were all very clean.
The food was nice but nothing to rave about, but we ate out every night so I can't comment much.
I think the one thing that let the resort down was the town itself. Although the people were friendly enough, every restaurant served english food, and it was lacking in Spanish culture. We found directions to a Tapas bar, but couldn't find it so turned back.
As I was saying earlier, it really is family orientated and kids would love it. There are loads of activities for children in the daytime as well as entertainment at night and in the town.
Over all, it's a lovely place but I'll go back once I've had children!!!
Cala n Forcat, Menorca. Different to the norm.

"Cala n Forcat, Ciutadella."
Cala n Forcat is a fairly well built up place in Menorca, although most of the buildings are only 3-4 floors high. Most of Menorca's resorts have height restrictions on their buildings apart from Mahon and Ciutadella, the capital and old capital. It's a short bus ride away from Ciutadella, which has many shops and cafes etc. and is built up. In Cala n Forcat you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and eateries. It has a family feel to it and is very Brittish. When you travel to Ciutadella however you can take in some of the Menorcan culture and way of life. The bus services there are very good and cheap and have electronic read outs to tell you exactly where to get off. Also in Cala n Forcat is a water park, which compared to some parks around Europe is very small, but good fun none the less, and will keep the kids entertained. You could go to Menorca on a singles holiday if you didn't want to much of a hectic time but if all night clubs and strips with endless blaring music is your thing you would get a bit bored. There's one place we went into called Blue breeze, a normal bar and pool/games room by day, nightclub by night. That was ok for a cheap night on the town and had a good atmosphere, otherwise not really much else that stays open until dawn. The beaches in Cala n Forcat are beautiful, little coves, cliffs up each side, clear waters (bit chilly in may) and not over crowded. The Menorcan people seem very friendly compared to other Spanish destinations i've visited and appreciate it when you say hello and thanks in Spanish. I found that the prices in Menorca were pretty much the same as anywhere Spanish owned. The scenery here is different though and has a feel to it like you're on the moon with its rocky roads and landscape. All in all a beautiful island and a beautiful resort that i recommend for a lively family holiday.
"Binimar resort, Cala n Forcat"
We booked into the Binimar resort, which was a fantastic little self catering place. 3 star and quite basic, but roomy with a nice balcony and all that was needed. The grounds were kept clean and they had great entertainment in the hotels bar. The hotel had 2x pools, which were spacious and set amongst colourful gardens and the mini villa type apartments were all painted peach and other warm colours to give it a real summery, family feel. The stafff were great and wanted to help when asked. They had an outside football 5 a side cage with tennis and basketball but whenever we waited around for the chap to turn up and open it he never turned up. We asked in reception but apparently the bloke who had the key wasn't on site and they were waiting for him to drop in at some point. The Binimar was situated perfectly too, not rite in the heart of the resort but on the side of it. You could walk to the heart of Cala n Forcat in less than 5 minutes. All night reception for when you stroll in at 04:00 needing some change or fancy a drunken chat to the night staff. Binimar is definately for the family goers, but if you like a bit of colour and don't mind kids you could still happily stay here as there's so much entertainment to keep the kids occupied you don't notice they're there. Also has a big sand pit and play area for the little ones and kids clubs galore. The beach is only 5 mins away, and is a small cove with gentle sloping waters, perfect for the little ones to play in shallows safely and not get lost in the relaxed crowd. From the hotel you can see lovely views over the cliffs, sloping down towards the beach area and of the tideless med. sea.
"Out of resort"
Going out of resort is great and easy too. Menorca has to be one of the easiest places to find your way around. It has a long road, stretching from one end of the island to the other and every other road just branches off it. If you get lost driving, just turn around, get back on the main road and there you go. We went to Mahon on a daytrip. Whilst there we went on a boat trip down the harbour, which is the deepest natural port in the world. On the boat we passed many expensive holiday homes including Richard Bransons. Other celebs names were mentioned but for the life of me i can't remember which (too much beer). We also stopped off at a gin distillery. You go in, wonder round and sample many different flavours of gin from butterscotch, to herbal, to mint, to strawberry and on and on. About 15 shots later we bought some to take home. Mahon is the new capital and is where the airport is and is very built up compared to the resorts of the island. I should imagine there would be the best nightlife here. We also stopped off at the caves of Xoroi. I didn't catch exactly where they were situated but if you wanted to visit them, everybody knows them just by their name. These were natural caves in the side of a huge cliff. They really were great to look around, although not as big as i thought they would be. The best thing about them is that inside the caves there was a nightclub. Literally made out of the caves, you go through tunnels and get to a dancefloor with 2 bars and a view out over the med. about a hundred feet up the side of the cliff, in this huge cave, mental. Just wish we'd have been there longer and seen it in full swing at about 3 in the morning not 3 in the afternoon. If you wanted bigger beaches than the small coves in Cala n Forcat we visited Cala n Bosh. Big sandy beach, plenty of space and a quiet little village with just enough to keep you busy for the afternoon. The best beach by a country mile though was Cala Galdana. I recommend this to anyone. It's basically a lagoon, with a huge sandy beach with the whitest of sand and bluest waters you'll see anywhere near Spain. With a lovely backdrop of hills, cliffs and the green of the trees on the hills this place really is like you're in the Caribbean. If you visit Menorca and don't visit Cala Galdana you've missed out. There are many other parts i didn't get to see but will definately be going back to try and get round them all. In the middle of the island is the mountain, i forget the name of it, mount *******? You can take a trip up there and see a monestry. This wasn't of much interest to me so we left it, but when i go back i'm sure i'll do it just to say i did everything. I didn't notice much in the way of water sports in Cala n Forcat as the beaches are too small but further afield you shouldn't have a problem finding what you want.
