More about Club-Hotel Nautilus Ibiza
Don't go there if your looking for pleasantness or comfort
on arrivial, from the outside we thought it was going to be okay. As we entered we thought we stepped back in time to the 1970's.
The hotel is very shabby, The carpets are threadbare, and the rest lounge looks and smells like a retirement home.
The rooms are nothing like advertised on any of the websites.
There are two very hard single beds, and wooden furniture that smells old, the wardrobe smelt fausty, so we kept our clothes in the suitcases.
Even the clothes that we did not wear, i had to wash when i got home, just to get rid of that damp smell.
The bathroom was very clean and fairly modern
It was situated on the beach, which was lovely.
The food was poor, breakfast was what you expected for abroad, and that was not too bad.
Snacks were always burgers or frankfurters, with raw onion and tomatoes and cold chips
Evening meals were not very nice
the thought of eating chicken drumsticks in a restraunt full of people was off putting enough, but when you cut by the bone blood came out. This was the second night of trying, after that we ate out in San Antonio Bay, which was very nice.
As stated in another review, the drinks are served in plastic cups, however they do have glasses in the restraunt, most people kept thier glass with them all night, they were like gold dust after 9pm.
The reception staff were very helpful, but the bar manger and one of the waiters, the one with a hole in his ear as an earring, and an amount of piercing on his face was very rude indeed. One of the people staying with us had a full drink knocked over him by this waiter and he did not even say sorry, very rude man indeed
We came to stay here as two sets of couples as a suprise birthday present, for my 34th birthday
What a suprise, i nearly cried. It was awful
The whole hotel needs a complete revamp.
I find it hard to give it a two star rating, if not for the pleasentness of the reception staff an the room maids doing a lovely job of cleaning the room, i wouldn't rate it at all
this is no where near a 4 star hotel
You Get What You Pay For! Fun Week!
We were a little disapointed with the room on arrival, being that it looked old! However, you are only there to sleep and it was spotlessly cleaned! Bathroom more modern and cleaned well! Maids were fantastic and friendly. Parts of the hotel a bit dated, like the lifts, carpets, etc. But the restaurant, lounge and veranda lovely.
We enjoyed the food - yes, it can be a little of the same every day - however, we only went out to eat once because it was our anniversary!
Breakfast was yummy - your eggs and bacon were cooked as you waited, not put in a tray to go cold!
There wasn't really any good desserts - but that was a good thing for me, from eating too much mains! Little pots of ice cream were fine!
The snacks were hotdogs, burgers, chips, pizza - but lets face it, these snacks were your little extra luxury, if you missed brekkie or lunch. Okay, so they were not luxurious - but how much do you really want to eat?
The drinks were put in plastic cups - whats wrong with that? Much safer for all we think! It doesn't stop you going back and gettin another one! A nice controlling way of stopping the Brits having more than they can handle! All staff were fantastic - smiling and friendly!
The entertainment was fine - there were two funny guys, who always did their best, some Spanish dancers, Bingo - we laughed anyway!
We watched the sunset nearly every night - we did enjoy the atmosphere down at Cafe del Mar - but we found a secluded spot if you turn right out of the hotel and walk that way!
San Antonio Bay a far old walk - excellent for burning off calories! And beautiful! And we visited AMNESIA - Cream 2006! You have to go - just to say you've been there! Blimin expensive but worth it!
The pool area crowded - we never used it! Who needs it anyway? The beach is on your doorstep! We both loved the beach - safe, clean and sea lovely!
And, you take your All Inc drinks, in your plastic cups down to the spot, where you chill all day! AHHH, Bliss!!
I feel i have to write about my awful day that i spent at the nautilus hotel.
Me and my partner booked a week at this hotel through teletext aug 06, it looked great on pic on the internet but please do not be decieved by these pictures.
We was slightly aprehensive before we went as we read some poor reviews but decided it couldnt be that bad and decided we would just enjoy our time away.
This hotel is labelled 4-5 stars, im sorry but i wouldnt even give it one star. As soon as me and my boyfriend stepped inside this hotel the mood changed it was like we had stepped into the seventies. It was grotty, dull, old fashioned and moody.
Our room wasnt even ready we had to hang around for 2hours even though we had arrived at the correct check in time.
I know this is quite rude but the receptionist looked like she needed a good wash hardly a good first impression of the hotel, she was very impatient and unco-operative with us.
When we finally got our room key we squashed into a boiling hot metal lift that would only fit two people in. When the lift reached the correct floor the long corridoor to our room resembled a corridoor to a mental hospital. Pale yellow walls, hospital flooring and it echoed miserably as you walked along it.
We walked into our room (ive seen better prison cells on tv). Everything was plain white, with the worse sort of furnishing ever. Just two beds pushed together, a white chair, a white table and a mirror. A balcony view of the hotel next door, we could just about see the sky really.
It was dreadful, it was prison...........i burst in to tears and my boyfriend felt terrible. I mean AWFUL!!!!!!!!
We are not snobs a young couple of 22 and 21, im not doing this in spite but please if i could help anyone do not go there- it deserves 0 stars this really does need to be changed.
There is no point in me going on about the pathetic patch of sand that was supposed to be a beach, or the pool area, or restaurant. Ive said enough.
Me and my partner left the hotel the very next morning to the other side of the island to a genuine 4 star hotel the sol ibiza and tried to enjoy the rest of our holiday.
If i could advise anyone DO NOT GO. I wont ever forget that one night i spent there.
no way a four star hotel
my husband and i stayed at the nautilus hotel in june 2006. although we did enjoy our stay, it shouldnt be classed as a 4* the location was good, as its right on the beach, but we always got the ferry to the main resort. the accomadation was clean, but very old fashioned, with old furniture and worn carpets, but the food was ok we was all inclusive. but all in all e did enjoy our stay. mr &mrs gray east yorkshire. 40+ couple.
Absolute nightmare!!! Stay away!!
We have stayed at the hotel Nautilus last year in May and without a shadow of a doubt it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
To say that the hotel is dated is an understatement! The carpets and the upholstery on the furniture was torn, our bedsheets were stained and there was dirt under the bed! There were cigarette butts on the balcony floor and the room was shabby. Our blanket had a large cigarette burn on it.
The food was awful. There was barely a choice and everything was tasteless, greasy and cold. My 4* dinner on the first night consisted of a plate of iceberg lettuce, cold chips and a lemon wedge. The pool area was filthy, with cables sticking out and hanging down from the ceiling. The sun loungers were stained and discoloured (brown!). The lobby area was horrendous: the chandelier was dripping water and there were 3 beach towels on the floor to soak up the water. The sea wview room we paid extra for gave us the view of a run-down building next door, and when we complained at reception, we were told that if we hang out of the window, we can see the sea!! The staff was rude and had BO!!We were so appaled by the conditions that we asked to be moved to another hotel. We had to pay out £130 to be moved to a 3* hotel(!!!!) and when I questioned why we had to pay to go to a hotel which was rated lower, than this one, they told us that the Hotel Nautilus (or Nauseous as we clled it...) was "a cheap 4 star hotel". I answered that there is no such thing as a "cheap 4* hotel, 4* is 4*!! Another 2 couples moved at the same time as us to another hotel after 1 night of stay.
The 3* hotel was much, much nicer in every respect!!
We have travelled all over the world and I can honestly say that this hotel does not even deserve a 2* rating! Even if you have very, very low standards and think that it can't be so bad because it's all inclusive, think again, you will be bitterly disappointed! Please don't waste your precious money (even if you think that the price is too good to miss, there is a reason!!) and your annual leave entitlement because you will be very disappointed!
Only Lasted Two Days
i booked thenautilus because it use to be owned by the green oasis company, i did not know it had been taken over by grupo playa sol . The hotel itself is very clean and the staff were quite helpful, however, the hotel is in dire need of modernisation and very very noisey, both nights wer were woken up by guest running up and down the corridors screaming and shouting and doors slamming, not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. i would rate this hotel no higher than 2 star. i have never stayed at a 4 star hotel where they only have plastic teaspoons and you have to set your own table for lunch and dinner, no hairdryer in the room and not even a bar of soap, asked for extra pillows was told that they had no extras! i would advise anyone thinking of staying here to think again , you will be very disappointed, the choice of food was very poor usually only warm and sometimes cold, so we moved to the S'estanyol which is owned by the same group it was out of the fire and into the frying pan so to speak, have written a seperate review on this hotel
It's not that bad !!!
Couple 40's - 3 Lads: 16 x 2 and 12.
After reading other reviews before we went, we did wonder if we'd made a big mistake. Yes, this hotel is basic and certainly not a 4* but what do you want for £25 a day all inclusive.
In our opinion - The bad points:
Quite noisy at night (people coming in at all hours).
Food - edible but not Gordon Ramsay !! And yes you had to pick up your own knives & forks before you sat down (as someone commented on) - but so what ??
Hotel in need of modernisation - not ever so important as long as it's clean.
The Good points:
Rooms clean - maids cleaned the rooms and changed the towels every day.
Pool area clean
Snacks and drinks plentiful and good choice (kids loved the ice-creams and cake)
Staff were friendly
Overall - for the money you pay here it's really not that bad.
Be prepared and enjoy
Your visit to this hotel will be enjoyed much more if you come prepared. Situated at the opposite side of the Bay you can catch the ferry for 2 euros each over to the busy side of town, but its advised you use the beaches near your hotel prefferably Pinet Beach which is just a five minuet walk from Nautilus.
Rooms dated but very clean, good power shower, thin walls, Take some ear buds to reduce all the unwanted noise mainly banging doors and the early morning rooster, I slept fine with the squashy earbuds and consider myelf a light sleeper.
I give the hotel 3 stars.
All inclusive Food 8/10.
Drinks on tap all day 8/10.
Hotel entertainment too late for the infants 10 pm start 5/10.
Reception staff spoke very poor english, but if we needed help we walked next door to hotel San Remo the sister hotel who answered all questions.
Value for money I paid just over a grand forthe 3 fo us.
Not as bad as people say!
Booked this hotel because it was right on the beach and was in a busy area.
I must admit, first impressions were not great, what with the dated furniture and carpets, but then you are only there to sleep so i think it doesnt matter!
It was at all times clean, our bedsheets were changed often, fresh towels everyday etc. Our 'double bed' was two singles pushed together but we just thought it was funny! You're are on holiday to have fun, not to worry about sleeping arrangements!
The food was a bit dull and repetitive, although salad and fruit was very good. Plenty of selection. We did eat out most nights, but thats because we are fussy eaters! The hotel did quite a lot of fish.
Yes the hotel is noisy, but what do you expect? You are holidaying in Ibiza, the Party Capital of the world! You have to accept that there are going to be drunk teenagers running around!
Overall, i enjoyed my staff at the Hotel Nautilus and would definately stay again.
